"I'm going to let go and let god" is the greatest description I've ever heard to what I do when Sci-Fi/Fantasy gets a little too scientific for me...

My biggest surprise was The Song of Achilles. Never thought I would enjoy this book so much. I was intimidated by the Greek Gods and all but it was surprisingly easy to understand and follow. My next will be Circe of course.

Didn't realize how nostalgic the jokes made me! My favorite book of the month was Hamnet. Was not sure if I would like it, but ended up LOVING it! The biggest surprise though was Carrie Soto is Back by TJR. Wasn't super hyped about it but was still going to read it because it was TJR. And MAN was it good!
@user-qu8zs7vs1x
@user-qu8zs7vs1x 2 года назад
I'm so curious to hear people s reviews of Carrie Soto. I don't know why but it does not sound interesting to me at all, mainly because I didn't really like her character in Malibu Rising, but it's TJR so maybe she'll surprise me?!
@caras4766
@caras4766 2 года назад
@@user-qu8zs7vs1x I also feel like the synopsis for Carrie Soto doesn't sound as interesting as her other celebrity-focused novels (partially because I have little to no interest in sports), but I have faith that TJR will be able to make it entertaining! Heard a lot of great reviews for it

I read 21 books this month! My fav was Rebecca, it was amazing! My biggest surprise was I am, I am, I am, because I don’t normally read memoirs but I loved this one! And my favorite fictional character was Casey Peabody from Writers and Lovers because she was so raw, relatable and real! Overall, I had a fantastic reading month!

the mike's lemonade gave me such a huge hit of nostalgia LOL my favorite book this month was book lovers! i finally got around to reading it (THANK GOODNESS bc now im obsessed). my biggest surprise was falling in love with the inheritance games, because i'm not usually a mystery fan and was expecting it to just be okay, but i became absolutely addicted once i started it. lastly, my favorite new fictional character is daniel from serious moonlight. he is quirky and imperfect and has real depth as a character, which is everything i ask for when it comes to a love interest in a book.

I’m so impressed with your videos. Entertaining in a playful way with diverse reads. I think the other thing I really enjoy is your appreciation for audiobooks. My favorite way to consume books is by audio. I’m so impressed with how a superb narrator can bring a story to life. I love stories in general and the talent that some of these narrators possess is incredible. Anyway, thank you for your videos.

My favorite book I read in June was The Violin Conspiracy. It is my favorite book I have read this year and the only 5 star book I have given out. It is so friggin good and I’m still thinking about it. The biggest surprise for me this month was that I didn’t love Red at the Bone as much as everyone else did. I still liked it but I guess it didn’t live up for me. Another big surprise is that I have read more nonfiction this year than any other year and it’s awesome. Love your channel ❤️

thanks for your inside on phantom! i have a complicated relationship with it. the 2000s movie terrified me as a kid and i refused to touch it again until my college got free tickets to a local production and i was like you know what? it’s free. let’s try again. we’re older and wiser, and it’s a stage production so it’ll feel less intense. i was buzzing the rest of the night i was so in love with the music. and now i’m scared to watch the original silent movie or read it because the music adds SO MUCH to the emotional connection. i still want to read it and intended to with you guys (plans changed) but i’m glad to hear there are still things to appreciate while still wishing you were hearing electric guitar and organ along with it.

I LOVED Finding Me by Viola Davis. I’m usually fearful of celebrity memoirs because I don’t want to hate the celebrity after reading it (which has happened to me several times…maybe I have bad taste?), but I actually love and respect her more after reading it. Always love your monthly wrap-up videos!!! My favorite book of this month was Dark Matter by Blake Crouch - it’s just TOO good. I think my favorite fictional character is Jason Dessen from Dark Matter also. Most surprising read for me was Love and Other Words by Christina Lauren. I didn’t expect to love it or connect with the characters as much as I did. It was so much deeper than your standard romance novel (which I enjoy as well don’t get me wrong); the discussions on heartbreak, loss, and human connection were written beautifully.

You have totally inspired me. I have had Hail Mary on my shelf for a year. I love Sci Fi, but just haven't picked it up. I've kind of been on a thriller jag. But, I think I might even read it next. I agree with Hide, I really wanted to love it. I liked it. The biggest thing that I wanted was MORE. So much was only scratching the surface. We have 14 characters and backstories, but we barely go into them. They also barely figure into the story. I thought the twist was kind of generic, almost old school. I was like, "Oh, that's what we're doing here, okay I guess." But, I did also want it to maybe be something different, or more, ha ha. Great wrap up!

Just want to say what a warm light and comfort your videos are for me, Noelle! My favourite this month was probably From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs Basil E. Frankweiler - the audiobook for this was phenomenal and the children's dialogue/voices just a joy to listen to! Been in a bit of a slump this month so found myself turning to a lot of children's classics. Biggest surprise was Juliet Takes a Breath by Gabby Rivera - one of my fave authors and the description for this sounded tailor-made for me, but it just fell flat. And favourite character has to be Charles Wallace from A Wrinkle In Time! (Also once again recommending Becky Chambers for sci-fi)
