I haven’t took a test yet but I’m Dominican so what percentage of sub sharan Africa would classify me as black I’ve been seeing videos and I’ve seen Dominicans go from 20-60 percent African dna ancestry.
There is a saying that you probably don’t know about which is one percent drop makes you all. Meaning if you got one percent black in you, they consider you black. Look it up.
True, but there were black Native Americans on US soil back in the days. I believe Thanksgiving had a part to do with that as far as the pilgrims and other Indians were fighting. Not sure.
This is why racism is stupid. Many of our 3rd great grandparents were different skin colors and many of our 3rd great grandchildren will be different skin colors
@Reee!Shay Jackson I met some of my great grandparents but never 2nd great grandparents. Some people in my family did get to meet thier 2nd great grandparents.
The last thing she said was right , people might be laughing at the 1 per cent but it shows that so many people have a shared heritage and it should make it easier to except each other.
Well people are really tripping over 1%. Talking about it’s just one percent it doesn’t matter if it’s just 1 or 2% Point blank and simple if you have One percent or 2% point blank and simple you’re still related. If you go get a DNA test to find out if y’all relayed it y’all will find the same exact thing it may not be 100% accurate but I guarantee you it would be certain match and DNA
One of the most interesting examples was Stephen Tyler. He found out his 5 times great grandfather was a black man, a farmer, living in the north with his white wife and 10 children. This man was a pillar of his community; member of important organizations in his community and active leader in community life. There was a lot of documentation and photos of this ancestors life and times. It was great to watch Stephen as he learned these things about his ancestor. I think it's still on RU-vid.
My ex and I got the Ancestry DNA test together. He had always been so proud of being from a Mayflower family. And sure enough the DNA test confirmed that. He claimed he was pure English. The test indicated otherwise. It indicated quite a mix including 1% African from area of Cameroon. His reaction was odd. He sort of put the test result away in a drawer and changed the subject (permanently). I don't think he ever told his brother or his children about the test results. Another thing about these test results. I had gotten an earlier test, back when they couldn't give so much detail. I don't think it was even consistent with my later more detailed test. Not sure what that's about.
It’s dissapointing the lady used the language “-sired three children with a slave” as if a slave had any choice in engaging in intercourse with her master. Words have power. Do better next time.
I look really white and i took one of these dna test thinking my grandma is full native like i was told and it said 7 percent native 20 percent sub saharan african. From somalia. Can any black people tell me why im so light i have rlly curly hair and bkue eyes but my skin is white but my mom is light skinned and my grandma is dark. Any thiughts?
