Sudowrite 101 Writing Fiction with AI Including Drafting, Screenplays, and Best Practices 

I'm simply astounded by Sudowrite's capabilities to produce quality material from just one or more prompts. The user friendly layout is exceptional. It's obvious there's a great technical team behind this program that is heavily influenced by writers. I realize this is a work in progress that is everchanging, but at some point, I hope Sudowrite will produce an online searchable User's Guide that will contain all of the great functions offered as well as how to implement each function. RU-vid videos are nice; however, a person can only retain so much information and over time they will need some type of searchable guide to refer back to. Kudos for such an amazing product!

This is one of the greatest things I've seen in my life.

My Achilles heel is descriptions as well, which is why when I first heard about using ai to help with fiction writing, my first thought was, “yes! I don’t have to struggle with descriptions!” My first drafts are usually actions and dialogue, very little descriptions, mostly placeholders saying “describe this scene/setting later.” 😂

I love Sudowrite for the outlines. I'm bad with filling in the blanks to pace out a whole novel, even when I have most of the story in my head. I give the brain dump the max 2k words and it gives me a pretty good outline. Then I usually spend a day tweaking it. That alone makes it worth the membership fee to me, but I'm more cautious about using it for help with prose. No one knows what the future laws will be on selling AI assisted books and it would be a nightmare to have Amazon just take down my whole catalog overnight. It's just something I can't help but consider, but for outlines and brain storming Sudowrite is awesome. It does seem that you really need to watch for too many similiarities to other stories, too. For instance, I'd never name a forensic psychologist Temperance. That's too close to Temperance Brennan, a very popular character who is a forensic anthropologist.

"One of the traps of writing with AI is you can get fascinated with trying to get the AI to write as many words as you can" (sheepishly raises hand) Guilty. It's easy for me to get "lost" in the AI so to speak, and then I'm not producing work; I'm just playing with the machine.

You mentioned DragonSpeak in this video. Can you use it with this AI writer?

My question is. I've been writing autobiography off and on for a year now, will I be able to import my writings into sudowrite and have it spruce up the descriptions ect? I have about 8 chapters finished so far.

It's so oppressive how people are trying to use a machine to determine if something was written by AI or not. That's a field filled with false positives
