Love how Odysseus is portrayed as in love and sad with the first few seconds. After all, it’s been years since he saw Penelope. Also a small nice detail, at 0:42 you can see Odysseus smile for a few frames, after she says “our daughter”, bc he knows this isn’t Penelope. Speaking of the daughter, 0:37 THE CHILD

I love love looove that Odysseus seems almost overwhelmed for a sec when the siren appears; like he KNOWS that's not Penelope, but after not seeing her for 12(?) years, even someone that just looks like her has to hit hard. Also jeez, the 'camera pans' (dunno what the official term for them are) are amazing, really creates a fun back and forth feeling. Great work all-around!

First, love all the little details accompanying the lyrics, all the framing (hiding the fish half), the tossing kid, the grabbing the spear right at the end... Most of all the way the siren is just getting exasperated by the second half of the song. Second, this style is absolutely adorable.

I just burst out laughing when she threw away the daughter, LOL. I also loved how we zoom into the siren's eye to see the lair of Scylla, that was a really nice touch. Actually this might be the funniest EPIC animatic I've ever seen with the pantomime Ody is doing at the end.

I adore this entire thing because it captures my own vision so perfectly, but my most favorite highlight is here, at 1:30. The siren in the song, just by itself, sounds like she just knows where the Lair of Scylla is and knows exactly how Odysseus can get home. It’s cool, but what you did here is even better. Because here it seems more like sirens have a special power or ability to know directions and stuff like that. They’re a mythical creature, so singing good can’t be their only cool stunt, and I love how you portrayed it here! Seriously! The siren looks so ominous and deep in thought, as if she’s on another planet. Just… AUGH. I LOVE THIS SCENE!!!! 😍😍😍 Sorry for the long comment lmao just had to get my thoughts written down. And plus, if I talked about this whole thing we’d be here for hours-

I adore how truly hilarious all of the Suffering animatics are. We realize he is messing around and having fun with it, and the results are some of the most comical imagery possible. Chibi Odysseus, yeeting a baby, an owo face, the siren getting fed up with him refusing to get in the water, the image of Poseidon trying to look for Odysseus, all of it. And then, because this is Epic, you also get sad and horrifying things like Odysseus’ moment of heartbreak and anxiety, grabbing the mast from the temporary fear that he might actually jump in the water when he realizes the siren is impersonating Penelope, the siren dropping her disguise when she answers him, and the momentary panic and anxious fidgeting Odysseus does when he realizes what Scylla means. A+ animatic. Perfect balance of comedy and heartache.

The way she fucking T H R O W S the child genuinely made me laugh uproariously. The rest of the animatic didn't disappoint either, you compliment the comedy of the song while playing the dramatic bridge beautifully straight.

I could never have imagined an art style like this working for any song in epic, but it matches the energy of the song so well and there’s so many little details that are just so well done like the siren getting more and more annoyed as their food continues to not let themselves be eaten, also, the throwing of the child was hilarious

I appreciate how genuine Odysseus and the siren's expressions are. As smarmy as the lyrics make them both seem, it makes sense that if they were both trying their best to be convincing, they'd act more convincingly.

I love the fact that the phrase "I can/would/will etc take the suffering from you" has a double meaning. The obvious at face value meaning bring "I'll make sure you're safe", but the secret actual meaning being "I'll kill you. Suffering over." It adds an extra funny detail as the Siren is getting steafily more frustrated with Odysseus as her tone inches ever closer to the latter meaning "I'm gonna enjoy killing him so much, I've never had to work this hard for a meal and frankly its insufferable."

I love love how he’s goading her on as it gets to the end!! Super silly and expressive I love it!!
