I never would have guessed that Sufjan Stevens was a really good looking muscular dude with a deep voice. That destroys the stereotype I had of him as a scrawny guy with a high voice.
When I first heard this song I felt like I’d listened to it in my past. But no. It’s funny when you feel that way. Only true beauty gets you to that point
It's kinda moving to me that the elliottness of this songs shines through the way it does. It's such a beautiful tune and I'm sure sufjan would be flattered
Lyrics: I'd swim across Lake Michigan I'd sell my shoes I'd give my body to be back again In the rest of the room To be alone with you To be alone with you To be alone with you To be alone with you You gave your body to the lonely They took your clothes You gave up a wife and a family You gave your goals To be alone with me To be alone with me To be alone with me You went up on a tree To be alone with me you went up on the tree I've never known a man who loved me
It's actually impressive how Sufjan's actual voice is deep yet sings in a higher voice and sings the song in a different transposition. It feels more angelic and desolating.. in a good way.
