Quik is a perfectionist I think that's why alot of people won't work with him bcuz they not on that.Nas was suppose to work with him years ago but it never happened cuz Nas rumored to be real lazy in the booth and don't like doing do overs. They'll fuck with Dr Dre bcuz of all the hype with his name cuz Dre be on the same shit too
He was too underground and too main stream. Too good for underground and went through the wrong lanes to be main stream and too underground to be mainstream. If he had the right backing he could've been a pit bull or a Sean Paul or an xzibit. Good wherever he go but sometimes he was too good and people jealous. I'm not up on sugafree like that but I recognize the talent. I think he should be bigger then what he is
I can safely say Street Gospel is a classic. How do I know? Because I hated the shit out of it at the time, came back to it 20 years later and appreciate the hell out of it. Thank you for the hard work
@@SnoopyRu1980 sorry, just seen this. I guess coz I was strictly supporting well known artists at the time. I can't even say it was a west coast east coast thing. I just wasn't listening to you if you wasn't Death Row, Bad Boy or an affiliate lol
@@rogermajor1490 funny how Sheppard Lane was at least collaborative with death row. Dj quik was responsible for Heartz of Men, Late Night, Words to my first born, as well as having a great relationship with the local radio 92.3 The Beat. Suga was so underrated. Very unique and stylized, and the perfect addition to anything that had Quik's name on it.
😂 true that!! my kids' father rip put me up on suga free when it first dropped. The look on my 27yo son in laws face when they played this and I knew every single word. 😂😂 like moms ratchet for that one 😂
@@kondodurham2599that was only 3 years after he came out but yeah he missed his debut in 97 and him on Rhythmalism in 98..so yeah I guess my dude kinda was late than a muthafucka lol
That's why that shit sounds so phenomenal. Quick, Dre, Daz, and Warren G ain't playing that shit lmao they gone take 99 takes and make one masterpiece of vocals
I love hearing these stories in the studio with real Producers plays off because I be banging that track everybody be asking me who is that I always say a pimp legend 💪🏿💯
He probably pieced togeather the takes, like R&B producers normally do,to make it as perfect as possible, according to the taste of the producer and artist alike, but a super producer like Quick, has that 1 in a Billion Ear for music, mixing and mastering, it's not very many who have what we call an 👂 Ear 4 Music,Quick is definitely a Genius in all of these departments 💯/100
Appreciate these guys. The fact they're still around says it all, genuine people. I grew up on Quik, AMG, Sugar Free, Mausberg and a shit tonne more from Compton to the Bay! Don't listen to me, I'm just a geek from the streets. The secrets in the music!❤
I love how SugaFree is a real pimp who is hooke up with the mafia but, then he comes into the rap game and got a lesson. That's just the way it is but he had no idea. Hahahahha 😂😂😂❤
