I think I got what she meant, but I can see how some wouldn't. It's a combination idea. First of all, attitude is everything - you have to have confidence in what you're doing, or else no one will buy it. It's also saying that if you can't see it in your mind you can't work to make that vision a reality.
Honestly and this might sound shady but when they get each other going, it’s difficult to ingest. This is just a normal conversation, a back and forth, it was chill.
@@RNCHFND I agree but I still enjoyed it, I love them together just want them to be able to be separate also, however idk the vibe I got from this is their still learning how to be apart from eachother so give them grace 🙏🏽❤️
This one might not go viral on TikTok because they weren’t reading each other back and forth but this is by far the most moving and inspiring interview out of them all.
Ooh I’m really excited then! I think there are quite some of them with maddy, like with Kennedy or with mrs kasha Davis (which personally is my fav one, really bowled my eyes out with that one) and i also love the denali one bc it’s really such a good vibe between two friends! I love that about maddy bc she really allows her guests to be what they wanna be in this interview and adapts accordingly!! Such a good and well prepared interviewer, such a fun person!
@@cinnamonroll96 omg yes. When Alexis Mateo was on for example it was perfect to be telling a lot of jokes because Alexis just wanted to have fun in the interview. But she can so quickly adapt to a persons sincerity and have real emotional moments.
You can really tell that Sugar and Maddy are two COMPLETELY different people, with very different interests, backgrounds and general personality traits, yet Maddy still manages to keep this conversation interesting, engaging and flowing naturally without any awkwardness or cringey interactions. That’s the mark of a truly skilled interviewer. Kudos! 😊
honestly like i can definitely tell i dont see myself being a sugar fan but i’m amazed at how Maddy really manages to bring her guest’s most vulnerable sides
I noticed around the 20-30 minute mark she seemed to settle in and start talking like a normal human, and it was so nice. At the start I wasn't sure if I would make it the whole episode. I'm glad I stuck it out. I love S&S but they usually fall into the less is more category. It was nice to see her settle and listen to a real convo with her and Maddy.
Its really sweet to me hearing Sugar talk about how protective she is of Spice because Spice was the only person she had in her life growing up who made her feel normal and not alien/strange. That is so sweet ;-;
Honestly, so glad we have drag twins exploring that release of individuality. Most people have that when they leave home, but these two get to explore it and show us what it feels like minute by minute.
This just proves what Mistress said after the talent show: Sugar and Spice are kinda brilliant with how they operate. Now we get to see Sugar take that brilliance and focus it into greater purpose.
Maddy saying: “the difference between you and the people who are doing something is because they did” has the same energy as our contemporary philosopher, Spears, Britney: “there’s only two types of people in the world: ones that entertain and the ones that observe”
there's something so beautiful about sugar's gift being simply a friendship bracelet because she truly is the epitome of a girl's girl; devoted to being a good friend
I am amazed by Sugar's profound insight in herself and the world, especially for her age and the edit she's gotten on the show. She says she is everything, while easily discussing her flaws, growth and the remaining work, and that really makes her everything! She is giving role model vibes. This is my favorite surprise on Maddy's show so far. This girl will go so far
Sugar is so on point about the introverted thing. It’s not that Introverts dont want to be the life of the party or hangout with people or arent suited for outgoing type of activities. We just take time to recharge, which is usually our alone time, and then we bounce back up again. I have a friend who literally does this. We were hanging out in our friend group but after a while she went off alone in a corner and a friend asked if she was okay. She says she just needed recharging and was totally fine. And then whoop back in the group she went after she had her recharge
@@KatieLHall-fy1hw Yeah the introvert extrovert thing just means "where do you get your energy from". Introverts can love being around people but still get our energy drained by being around people. Extroverts are just people who get more energy from being around other people.
Honestly this has to be one of my favourite series. I love getting such a deep and entertaining look at the queens. And it really shows Maddy off even more as a talent, queen and entertainer.
@@noirweiss yeah but thats the second half of the same sentence, she said there was a pool and they were there bc their birthdays are in July, every year. Context :D
@@morgenmuffel5747yet they didn’t when more extra problematic allegations came out. Before it was just James coming into straight men… later it was minors and they distanced themselves.
To see her speak a lot about herself makes you respect her so much? Uhm…. Okay so logically Jasmine Kennedie would have your complete and absolute reverence wouldn’t she?
There are so many queens that were social media famous "Pre-Drag Race", i.e. Kim Chi and Aquaria. It's a part of the resume and shows your ability to communicate your art to a broader group of people!
I didn't know Sugar is this eloquent and insightful. Love this for her. "I'm not a dumb blonde, I'm just really good at pretending to be one.", as Paris Hilton would say. 💖
It's wild to me that some people think Sugar and Spice are empty headed bimbos. It's so apparent to me that they're very analytical and are constantly thinking about this, that, and the other. On RPDR, their sincerity and genuineness were very apparent. ❤
I’m so glad that we get to see another side of Sugar and not just the “dumb bimbo twin” archetype that Drag Race wanted to box her into. She’s a talented and well spoken individual when she’s given the space to be and I’m glad that Maddy gave her that space.
What an incredible interview. Might be my favorite to date. Sugar is incredibly bright and so well spoken! I really connected with a lot of what she was saying
I have to say that, this episode of Give It To Me Straight, is my favourite one that Maddy has done, because I love Sugar and Spice so much, so being able to learn more about Sugar is allowing me to love her on a deeper level and connect with her.
I watched this thinking I wasn’t going to watch the full hour but I was so enthralled I didn’t even notice when it got to the end. Thank you for letting us study the psyche of Sugar on a deeper level ❤
I honestly think she's the best out of all of the interviewers that have come out of drag race. She's a natural and makes everyone comfortable to reveal things but to take some friendly shade too
Oh, I see now. It's not that Sugar's speech is scattered; it's her hand gestures. 🤔 She comes across as ten times smarter and more insightful when we listen to her on the podcast by herself.
This was so beautiful, I connected to my younger self who was having depression and did not understand it. Sugar seems much more interesting to me now. Yet again Maddy is here to open our eyes and our hearts to all these fabulous yet normal people ❤
What's so special about GITMS is that we get to see who all these queens really are and to hear their stories. Usually all we get is the portrayal of a character in a TV show, but there's so much more to them! It's been so special getting to hear queens like Sugar, Farrah, Kerry, Kennedy... You do see them in a different light after these conversations. And props to Maddy, that just keeps getting better at this! She's really perfecting the timing of these interviews, and making it about the guest and not about herself. Always new she had something special! ❤
I love how in her childhood she was the more shy out of the two. But then she is also the more dominant, kind of the mom, also the baby and the younger one, simplistic, seemed more outgoing from the outside prespective, complicated, and everything everywhere all at once. She is crazy and i love that for her!
Sugar is so down to earth and relatable I love her so much. She’s very wise and intellectual behind the bimbo character and that’s what makes her so intriguing
This was such a good interview as Maddy got rid of the Sugar facade immediately and asked proper questions. Without doubt it's the most intelligent Sugar has shown herself to be.
Sugar is who made me fall in love with the twins. Shes so open and honest about her feelings, its very special. I appreciate how deep she got here. Being a soul that chose to be here because they already knew what they wanted to do and could handle it was so beautiful. ❤
Maddy, as always, is the BEST interviewer! LOVE seeing Sugar in a good place and so positive. She's actually very inspirational! That bracelet Maddy gave her at the end was SO thoughtful!!!!! It hit me in my old jaded gay cynical heart and actually made me feel good!
i’m going to fucking cry, i’ve NEVER heard anyone speak about the eye condition i have! I am also basically blind in my right eye! I had sensory problems as a kid so patching never worked for me, so i wear glasses, but my vision in my good eye is 20/20! my glasses straighten my bad eye because it’s lazy due to the lack of use, and crisp up my vision in my left eye. I got surgery to fix my lazy eye in May of 2023 and it was pretty successful, it’s perfectly straight with glasses, and without glasses it looks about as straight as it was with my glasses before surgery. I’m so so so so happy to hear from someone else who went through this! Sugar is now my favourite queen ever.
Maddy is great about moving the conversation along without talking over her guest. She allows them to have the time to fully tell their stories. I really like how much Sugar was able to just relax and open up.
Maddy's interviews truly let you know a queen. I knew about parts of Sugar but seeing her as just Sugar is beautiful. Maddy's really using her platform to elevate other queens.
Such a great interview. Sugar was very vulnerable, there was no putting on. I really appreciate sugar opening up without a character, and great questions from Maddy!
This interview is so amazing. Huge respect to sugar!!! As someone struggling with depression its so refreshing hearing someone talk so openly about it, talking about it should be more normal, thank you for this interview 💗
its comforting to hear them talking about the obstacles around getting ready in a small space. that's about to be my reality once I start my drag journey
Never thought Sugar has so much sadness inside her😔 kinda opposite of her name ironically😅 but as a person who deals with depression it's inspiring seeing how much she's grown and didn't give up. Gives me motivation to continue my journey
I wasn't expecting an episode like this. Sugar it's very eloquent and coincidentally the way she described her journey sounded similar to the one I had
I really did not know what drag really was until I saw sugar and spice on you-tube for the first time. So sugar and spice pls know that you inspire me to want to do drag and be my genuine and feminine self so you both will always have a place in my heart.
This interview explained so much. From a viewer's POV I didn't see why Sugar or Spice were in the bottom for Snatch Game. So many contestants just disappeared during the episode. I saw the twins trying. The preformace needed polish, but in my opinion the bones were there. But messing with the host 😅
This is one of my favorite episodes, Sugar came off as very real, and likable, 100 percent more than the persona she was giving along with Spice not just on DR, but on other shows, like Very Delta, The Pit Stop or even Watcha Packing. I'm not on tiktok or follow the twins on social media simply because they're not my cup of tea, but I gotta say Sugar won me over, she was very likable, smart, charming and naturally funny, without having to rely on canned bits. Kudos to Maddy as well, for the way the interview was conducted, along with the one with Farrah. Bravo 👏👏👏👏👏
What an interesting and way more complex person Sugar turn out to be. I think I like her a lot more now because I understand her a little better now. ❤❤
I was so happy to see Sugar on here! Being a twin, the gay one to my straight identical twin, it was so exciting to see twins on drag race during season 15. And the uniqueness and originality of sugar and spice hooked me right away! I was sad to see Sugar leave early but she left such a fun positive impression on me. I almost never comment on these things but to hear about Sugar’s struggles and growth and life awareness, it spoke to me. I had a similar awakening in my life this past year, but I’m 47 years old. I’m so happy Sugar’s happened at a younger age. 🥰
It's so nice to get to know Sugar better solo! What an absolutely lovely young woman, I have too many compliments to fit in one comment towards the both of you Queens!!!
You can’t help being charmed by him. Maybe I didn’t follow EVERY point he was trying to make..🤣 lmao. But! He definitely got me intrigued. My favorite part was when he opened up about personal things like depression. I hope Sugar continues being vulnerable and sharing his struggles. I think it’s powerful to see someone so attractive and you think they have it ALL to then still see them deal with relatable struggles like his deeper depression phase of being high almost everyday to cope, and then binging & isolating themself because they didn’t want to effect their relationship with their friends. I really empathize with him, he deserves more. You can tell he has a good heart. Love you Sugar! I see your potential, & it’s HUGE🩵
Honestly love Sugar. I am not on TikTok because I am old but she just seems really geniune and fun. Sugar is so smart as well. The experience she has had of depression over the last year is very relatable to me.
Its so nice to see just Sugar. Her time on the show was to short. And we got to see moreof Spice. And this interview really helped us show her. It's so interesting hearing all these individual queens go deep, explain more about themselves, and Maddy. You are an OUTSTANDING host. Every Time! You are so understanding, compassionate, and you do so much reasearch it's borderline scary. But you never make them feel uncomfortable, or backed into a corner when it gets real. 100000/10
The twins, ( and especially Sugar, for me ), turned out to be one of the best things about season 15. I'm probably the only person not on TikTok, so Drag Race was my introduction to them. At their entrance, I thought they might turn out to be vain and bratty, based on how young and cute they were. But immediately after that - I was proven very wrong for my judgement. They were so sweet, humble, charming, engaging - and cleverly funny too. I thought the looks they brought were amazing and adorable. Their bond with each other was so endearing, and they were unexpectedly down to earth. It turned out that I couldn't get enough of watching them! Sugar is just ethereally beautiful, and really wise for her age. I agree completely with Sugar's fan who told her that the joy she brings is as important to an audience as what "performance" queens bring.
Maddy is such a brilliant host, doing her research like a superspy but at the same time setting boundaries in some places like family and stuff. That’s so wholesome and great, love u maddy ❤
This was an Amazing Episode and it was so cool of you to hold back on the puns a bit cuz she was emotional.Your great Maddie And Sugar is a genius.I had no idea.❤❤🎉
I adore both Sugar & Spice but it’s awesome to see Sugar shine on her own. Especially since the “drag fandom” got to know Spice better on the show. I follow them on socials and they have always been such sweet people and very wise beyond their years. They’re also entertaining asf lol so I can’t wait to see their new show!
