If you have not already done so, have a talk to Clive Plater at the museum. He is the museum President and has a long family history with the mill and it's tramways.
I want to know more about this please tell me! Ever since I went to mill valley ranch, the first thing I saw was that old locomotive which I've found online and is called "Rusty". I also want to know if there's any remaining lines still operating or maybe if there's anything cool to see. I doubt your still around, but if you could respond it would be nice, thanks.
Hi mate, thanks for your message. I have long wanted to visit that Mill Valley Ranch to photograph Rusty. The mill closed in 2003, and most of the system was ripped up. There are two small surviving sections, the heritage listed street railway in Nambour, along with about 1km of branch on private property. We have gradually been tracking down other surviving bit of track, bridges, etc. I first discovered the mill around 1993 and have been quite obsessed with it ever since. I have a website that I work on from time to time. It has quite a bit on it so far. maroochyshiretramways.wordpress.com/ There is also a Facebook group of the same name. facebook.com/groups/217303094998927 There is nothing now running, however there is a group working towards running a tram along the street tramway in Nambour. They already have a new shed set up, and have locomotive PETRIE preserved there. There is currently a tram being built for this operation. Thanks for the interest mate, I hope this helps.
