It kind of happened like that in the comics. Boomerang convinced him to run to see if ARGUS was serious; he does, and has his arm blown off. Boomerang falls in line.
Stay_Rebel wow, hypocrite, big word there, one thing, i didn't tell any of you that you couldn't express your own opions? And still what is with the Anger?
Really curious now. Consensus among critics seems to be that editing and pacing was so poor that it didn't really amount to a story, just a a really long trailer. But I haven't seen it yet.
I saw it yesterday, didn't really enjoy it. Much of that is that I'd seen the trailer a hundred times (thanks youtube and other movie visits). I thought the first half was not particularly interesting, it's character introduction for about 6 people, of which only Deadshot and Harley Quinn are interesting. I felt that a lot of stuff was exceedingly predictable, such as the main antagonist (obvious 2 seconds after she's introduced), and the fact that Slipknot is the one who dies to demonstrate their neck-bomb-things. In the end I liked the 2 characters mentioned, couldn't give a shit about the rest, liked the action, felt the comedy was off and only consisted of lame one-liners (except for Cptn Boomerang, he was funny, but still only has like 3 moments). It just didn't manage to grab me at all. For me it's a 6/10, it's fun if you're a fan of the characters, but otherwise it really isn't great. Note: I agree it's miles better than BvS, though maybe that says more about BvS than SS...
I like how you gave your impression of the film: story, structure, characters, etc., and you didn't have to go after any other reviewers or review sites on their reviews of the film.
+Rhetro Active You should replace DC fans with comic book fans in general. As a whole, they're pretty much the most insufferable bunch of shit stains on the planet.
Well, no. Loki's plan was to unleash the Chi'tauri/Skrulls on earth by opening a portal to Thanos's planet. Enchantress's goal was to cover the world in darkness and make everyone worship her.
Nah, I thought she was cool too. She had a juon/the grudge kayako thing going on with the pale skin, freaky stare, and jerky movements. I also liked how tough she was in the final fight and managed to get to each of the squad in a personal way.
I wished they fleshed out her character more, but it was still a lot of fun to have a female villain like that. And she looked freaky as hell which I loved.
It didn't have zero plot though? Otherwise you wouldn't have a film at all so straight away that's stupid to say. Sub plots out of place? I think not, it makes sense for Joker to get Harley back but for Thor to disappear into a cave? Nah that was a ridiculous sub plot
I don't listen to critics I don't listen to RU-vid and websites I real good opinion about movie I watch it myself people say the revanant is good critics, RU-vid, websites I say that movie is long and boring
I thought Enchantress and her brother were great, even though the brother wasn't that fleshed out he was still very intimating taking out helicopters, seals, and subway trains. He also had a real cool fight at the end with *Spoilers* With Diablo as a giant fire god. Enchantress was pretty scary because she had those weird inhuman movements and when she turned into that blue goddess, she took out secret bases and battleships by using her magic on Amanda after the brother took out the helicopter, now that's a good plan. 9/10.
The movie is entertaining, but its structure is shit, mano. I did like the action but if you analize it, it doesn't make sense. Incubus, the brother could have easily disposed of the dumbasses in SQ with one sweep of his arm, turning them into dust, yet he can't kill a crazy girl with a bat? And the Enchantress is supposed to be this very powerful being who is as powerful as her brother, yet all she can do teleport and even then she can't kill guys with bats, guns and boomerangs? Can't she shoot rays or something at least? The script was hella weak, all it took for Diablo, Boomerang and Croc to connect with the team ("my family") was a couple of drinks and some emotional chitchat at a bar? Remember these guys barely know each other and we are supposed to believe these "evil" criminals now care for each other just like that? SQ has many problems, editing, music, but the worst is the script, if you analize it, it makes zero sense. This movie is far worse than BvS, tho it's more entertaining.
www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/suicide-squads-secret-drama-rushed-916693 WB suits brought in the guys that cut the SS trailers to edit an entire movie. Cutting a trailer and cutting an entire feature film is two different things.
furthestfromthesun. The funny part about Loki. The big Irony is if you saw the movie SS. Loki literally did the same shit Enchantress did in this movie. There was no difference. At all. Enchantress Heart=Infinity stone. They both had minions. They both made slaves. Opened a portal to destroy the world. It ended the same. Only SS in a criminal since. All they asses got locked tf back up. While Avengers became heros. Difference is it was shorter. Its a good movie. A lot of critics wanted more. 2hrs didnt do it justice. Loki was ass too. The best Marvel villain is Apocalypse.
Heath Ledger was nothing like the Joker. Nolan's idea of Batman was pure rubbish. He's a great director, but had no respect for the comics. Also the movie was pretty fucking great. It just didn't explain things very well between Enchantresses' introduction and the team being thrown into their mission.
*SPOILERS* I like how they highlighted how the Joker actually cares for Harley Quinn. Harley Quinn is also touched into the background but, it feels as if there was more depth for it. You can see how much she loves the Joker and it pretty much broke my heart when he 'dies' later in the film. Bad guys are bad guys for a reason. Everyone has a depth that we get to somewhat see in this film.
Dont think it was the director here.... scared studio brought in another company (company who is known only for editing trailers) to recut the film after the BvS failure. I would pint fingers at the Studio for not believing in the directors original vision.
QLCHerald I want dc characters. I want them to nail a ww movie, since she's Kind of the first female superhero that I looked up to. They just don't have a great track reccord
this is one those shittiest movie i have ever seen. worst movie ever. SPOILER ::- they promote this movie like its jokers but the truth is that joker is hardly in the movie and even this movie has no story. it was headache...
Maybe if you didn't hyped yourself up so much over joker being in the movie you might have enjoyed it, but instead you watched the movie waiting for the joker to appear blanking everything that happens during that time only to realize he was in the movie for a total of 8 minutes.
So far, Jeremy Jahns, Black Nerd Comedy, and The Flick Pick are the only RU-vid movie reviewers i trust not just in reviewing DC movies, but just movies in general.
I fucking loved the first half of the movie, the end was great too, the in between was a little meh though. I'd give it like a 6 or 7 out of 10. I really don't understand the 30% lol, 50% maybe
30%? You mean rotten tomatoes score right? It's how many critics gave it a positive score. Let's say a movie comes out and there are 100 critics whose reviews rotten tomatoes took, 30 of those critics gave the movie a 7/10 and 70 gave it 4/10, this makes the rating 4.9/10 and the RT %age 30%.
Jimmy Dean Is Evil I know how the website works and as they collect reviews from bunch of outlets, I do like to check them out but if I find a movie interesting, I will see it no matter what and obviously form my own opinion unlike the people signing "close rotten tomatoes" petition.
Boruto Uzumaki Rotten Tomatoes is owned by Time Warner, you know the company who owns Warner Bros movie studios that produces DC extended universe movies.
I have really great fun with this movie. Saw it 3 times and well ecach time it goes better. Ok the story isn't complicated but I love all the characters, even Will Smith who was my biggest problem with the cast. My only problem with this movie are those cuts I wanna see uncut version because I think it lost a lot because of this last minute changes. And I love Leto's Joker he was sick, he was the scariest psycho Joker and I really would like see a movie based on his and Harley story.
I watched it today an I think it is good and if i saw it on blu ray i would pick it up and watch it again and i cant wait to see e deleted scenes or a directors cut because there was quite a bit cut out of the movie especially with the Joker e.g. The scene where he goes Bye Bye with half his face burnt or something like in Arkham. But the reviews are confusing rotten tomatoes around 30%, imbd around 9/10, You a B, chris a C, jeremy gave it 8/10 i think but either way it is good enough to go see in cinemas the inky character/s i didnt like was the villain/s
Rotten Tomatoes score is how many gave it a positive review. In Suicide Squad's case, it means 30% of critics gave it a higher score than 5/10. Let's say a movie comes out and there are 100 critics whose reviews rotten tomatoes collects (they don't review movies, they are an aggregator), 30 of those critics gave the movie a 7/10 and 70 gave it 4/10, this makes the Rotten Tomatoes %-age 30% but the rating 4.9/10 and not 3/10 as it would be easy to assume.
Dude, this review got me back in to wanting to watch your videos. I think our opinions of BvS were super different and I just heard too much bashing from everyone so it was nice to here your few criticisms but ultimately your liking it as a fan and actually looking at the strengths of the movie. It's good to be back. Haha
I love people, when they try to generalize everyone’s opinion even John’s. When they say “This movie is bad,” Or “this movie is great.” It makes for a very weak argument, when you generalize your reader or watchers opinion. John does a great job of stating his opinion with a simple “my opinion is....”
ive been subscribed to you for more than a couple of years now and i love you and your cute personality. which is why i dont understand why you dont have more subscribers than you do now, you deserve it
You realize that BEN AFFLECKS solo Batman film is taking place in ARKHAM and BATFLECK WILL ACTUALLY BE WORKING HIS WAY THROUGH ARKHAM,FROM BOTTOM TO TOP , FIGHTING ALL THE VILLAINS HE HAS PUT IN OVER THE YEAR'S! (SEE " THE RAID" )
I think the points you make about the villain in the movie are pretty on point. On the flip side it was so over the top that the character's could be developed as they were dealing with the villain. Waller was pulling strings in the background so she was always in the movie even though she wasn't on screen. It seems like she has more roles to play in the DC Universe.
your problem is that your hyper critical. Leto's joker was on point. liked it better than ledger's. ( oh no!! did I just shatter some taboo these weird "ledger's joker was the best FOR EVER" hold to?) never thought at my age I would be more open to new portrayals..new interpretations than you young-enz. Leto killed it..drop the mike performance. whenever he was on screen you don't take your eyes off him..did you notice that yourself? the problem with the movie wasn't ANY of the performances. it was the studio who took its audience for a bunch of coconuts. total cash grab rather than making what SHOULD HAVE BEEN an iconic movie..one that whenever it comes on TV you gtta watch it. DC gets one last chance with wonder woman from my end.
I loved Leto's Joker but he had too few scenes to have a complete understanding of him. Fact is his Joker delivered on the premise that he was going to be the closest to the comics and animated series Joker brought to life and in a way he was. Heath Ledger's Joker wasn't Joker in his behaviour and mannerisms but only in parts of his philosophy, about chaos and "all you need is a little push". Other than that, his "street" Joker was the most different from ANY other version from the comics, games or animated media. He was really great, but was his own thing. Jared Leto is more faithful to the comics in that way.
The way that this movie featured bad people interjected with good or better people, use of heavy flashbacks and a mediocre villain it's basically deadpool / guardians of the galaxy mash up. and I loved it so much
i'm a dc diehard fan and i say 7/10 good but it has it's flaws. wel balanced in action and comedy with great charachter performances but yes the plot is on the weak side but i couldn't care that much because in the end even though i expected more i was entertained very wel.
On thing that bugged me...when Harley gets in an elevator, seemingly to get away from the other members, ALL of them are already waiting for her at the top. They never explain it! I'm sure they just cut that scene or flipped things in it.
Though I agree the contrast between the SS and the villain Enchantress is a bit stretched since Enchantress is all magic and SS is more grounded, I didn't mind Enchantress. She made it higher staker and presented a big challenge for them. If they wanted it to be more grounded which would have been great as well they could have made Joker the main villain, but he has nothing to do with the SS. On the other hand Slade Wilson would have made an excellent villain as a mission for them if they wanted to keep it on a more grounded level. He'd be able to take on the whole team considering he sort of harnesses skills that can rival each ine of the SS members.
I think Enchantress wasn't a bad villain at all, her backstory was well-developed. And considering she was the most powerful of the villains that was under Amanda Waller's pocket, I think it was appropriate that she was made the main bad guy. She was quite interesting actually. And also, it was a nice of way of introducing the concept of "magic" in the DC extended Universe. Something that Marvel will just be introducing in their universe with the upcoming Dr. Strange. For the past 8 years, marvel seems to be quite allergic to the concept of introducing magic in their universe, that's why we got a crappy version of Mandarin.
️Hello, it isn't about "what movie is the best", but really (being honest), most of the critics and youtubers, have a big preference towards Marvel, and they don't let the 2 universes (Marvel and DC) grow and let the people enjoy them, attacking every decision DC makes before the movie comes out, affecting people's opinions. In my personal opinion, I loved the movie, go and see it and enjoy it. 👍.
So one beef I have with the film is that we get this team of villains forced to help the government with their "darker" goals, but we get a plot in which 'bad guys' weren't needed to get the job done. Seriously, the A-Team could've basically done the same thing. At least Assault On Arkham had the Suicide Squad do illegal like killing cops and deal with gangsters.
I loved this movie. Totally didn't recognize the Rick Flag actor as Robocop. And I liked this mob boss Joker, change of character/different interpretation for the Joker & I thought it was good
This review is 100% spot on. I loved the characters that made up the squad and Amanda Waller was also surprisingly a favorite. But the "evil force" villain and the fact that Waller was kind of responsible for unleashing it made the movie seem messy. In reality, it could have been a satirical comment on the U.S. creating its own terrorists but if that was the point, it's pretty hard to make out.
I've never been so on the fence about a film before, not even with BvS. The movie was kind of incoherent at times. There were times when I felt it was going and I wish it had of stayed there but then somehow went all over the place. It did the one thing I wish it didn't and that was kind of focus on Harley Quinn, I mean don't get me wrong I know she demanded screen time, but with the tone of the movie they could have dialed her down a bit and maybe developed something else, i.e. gave more scenes of the Joker or made him more involved with the story. I mean no part of me thinks they would have called her to deal with the Enchantress.
Does a B mean 8/10 cause that's pretty close to what I'd give it. It was definitely one of those fun movies where the action is non-stop but you learn to keep up.
