The intro song is confirmed as Sukuna talking to/mocking Yuji, so it makes sense lmao. The repeated phrase 'You are my Special' in multiple contexts throughout the song isn't like 'oh you're my favorite' in a good way. It's literally an abusive relationship and Yuji's Sukuna's favorite torture toy to fuck with at the moment.

The maximum range of Sukuna’s Domain Expansion could reach 200 meters due to the Vow. If only one person stood at exactly every square mile of Shibuya, Sukuna would have taken out about 12% of Shibuya. Which equates to 28,800 people. ON TOP OF THAT, It’s Halloween therefore everyone is walking around Shibuya square. So let’s say 20% of the population was at Shibuya square? 48,000 people, give or take, died. 1,001 is an insane lowball😭

Yeah, I didn’t really understand the basis for the math in this video, 1000 people? In one of the busiest parts of a metropolitan area? In a range of 200 meters…we watched the guy wipe out multiple “skyscrapers” worth of people, with most sky scrapers generally holding hundreds if not thousands of people at a time, anything less than 10k bodies makes no sense.

What makes Sukuna such a great villain isn't his trash talk or his overwhelming power. Don't get me wrong both are a huge plus in my book. There is nothing more disappointing then a character who talks a lot of crap but can't back it up or live up to their own hype so it's always nice to see characters that are implied to be overwhelmingly powerful actually turn out to be overwhelmingly powerful. What makes Sukuna a great villain is how expressive and animated he is in both his resentment and even outright disregard for everyone and everything around him. You never look at his body language and wonder whether or not he has just a little bit of respect for who he's fighting...nope... one look will tell you that he's either resentful, dismissive, or just outright annoyed by his enemy. Everything from his body language to his facial expressions loudly broadcast exactly what he thinks of the person he's fighting. And I can't help but like his character for that.

For me, what makes him special is that he backs up what he says. Too many times, villains "want respect" and "don't care about people" but have a body count of zero and leave everyone of any importance resenting them until the end. Saikuna, however, puts the fear of god into EVERYONE, and if they so much as treat him like a king, their body gets added to the pile. You know, the one he created from all those who had the audacity to exist within a half mile of his presence catching strays from shots at things he actually finds halfway decent.

With nanami's death I had time to cope since I got spoiled way before season 2 even came but I didn't pick the manga back up until Shibuya dropped so the moment sukuna switched with yuji hit so much more. At least the mappa animators did nanami's death justice by having him at the beach. Yuji got nothing but pain the entire season 😭
