Sulastic vs Stock Shackle 2019 3500HD 

There used to be a bump on the freeway right by my house that would always bounce me up into my seat belt. After installing the sulastic shackles, it didn't eliminate the bump I felt, but I no longer locked out the seat belt anymore, which made it worth it to me.

I put a set of these on my 2015 F250. They did improve the ride.... for a while. After just over 2 years, the rubber flex part separated from the steel part and they were then just sitting in the bottomed out, useless position.. until you hit a bump, then due to the slop, the rear end would bounce up and then back down to the collapsed position. Sulastic replaced them under warranty (only 3 year on rubber part). When I got the replacements I just sold them rather than go thru the trouble in re-installing them. Good idea, does make for a slightly better ride, just doesn't last... and for the price they should last much longer and/or lifetime warranty.

I installed this definitely softened the big bumps and small potholes. One thing I also noticed was the rear end moved more side to side like I had no sway bar at the back.

I bought these and Wow, what an impressive improvement. Companies like GM should buy their patent or incorporate them as they will sell more HDs in the process. Objectively, they feel like 50-70% smoother rear suspension smoothness. Worth the money and I’m more excited to ride my 2020 Chevy 2500 more than ever; I love my 6.6L gas engine as well, doing just great for my needs. The mechanic I hired did not have to notch out the underside of the Chevy box as found in some videos. He saved time and box damage by simply cutting those bolts and replaced them with new ones and faced the head of the bolt the opposite way; easier to remove if ever needed. Duh, brilliant! I’d say these are one of the best things one could invest in for an HD, period. Superior to Air Bags here in the winter (easily reaches -20 to -45C for days at-a-time here during Alberta winters) as bags can stop functioning at those temps.

California Avenue is ATROCIOUS, especially right off i215 heading to the tracks, I try to avoid that road like the plague Did it remove the bumpyness on the concrete highways? Cuz my superduty will bounce pretty badly on highway speeds only on concrete when they have those expansion gaps, if I have weight then no issue

So how are they doing after a year of running these sulastic shackles? Still holding up well?

I just replaced all 4 shocks on my 2010 F250. Did the front first and the truck was much improved in ride and smoothness because my front shocks were toasts. The rear shocks still worked, but I decided to go ahead and replace them with the same brand as the new front ones (the yellow Monroe gas magnums). Big mistake. Now the truck is riding much rougher in the rear. I'm on the fence. Do I spend $500 on Sulastic shackles or dig the old rear shocks out of the garbage.

Anyone use these with a load ? Like a truck camper ? Curious to hear if it also helps with a 5,000lbs load, or if in fact it becomes too "mushy".

Any updates? On how there holding up. Have you towed with them?

how is this work when towing? Do you have more bounce ?

Ive checked the thier website but cant seem to find a part number for my 2022 3500. The only part number showing is for lt and ls models Sa-04HD

I installed these on my 06 dodge 3500 single wheel and just checked 20 mins ago and the rubber bushing is shot and separated on the passenger side already. installed aug of 2019. only lasted 2 years and now I have to figure ut if I want to go through warranty to get new ones as I'm in Canada and sulastics is in the us. just a caution for future buyers.

Right when you said not much happening here is where you could see the difference the best! The camera was getting heavy vibration

Did that affect ride height at all? It looks like you lost about 2 inches in the rear.

I just don’t see a big enough difference. I must have rewinded the video 30 times! I mean for the cost, Is it worth it? When I was told about these it made a lot of sense, but I didn’t realize the stock shackles had movement also. I pulled up this video because I was ready to purchase some. For the cost I’m not sure they are all that different. I think you may have just talked me out of them. Thanks for the video.

Do the shocks, those Rancho shocks are garbage.. Buy a nice set of adjustable Fox or Icon, you wont regret it..
