26:58 I'm from Sulawesi, I think that's a normal price and indeed prices in Sulawesi are a little more expensive than Java. -Nasi goreng merah maybe:25k -Roti bakar:10k -2 air mineral:10k I think that's a normal price, not a price for foreigners
Indonesia is special, even though we have different local languages, we are united by one language, namely bahasa Indonesia, because Indonesians can speak two languages from birth, bahasa Indonesia and local languages, for example Javanese, Sundanese etc. 🇮🇩🇮🇩🇮🇩
I am a teacher in secondary school, I ever asked my students to watch your youtube chanel, and then I asked them about your videos, most of them, love watching your reaction when you trying foods and drinks, they say hi for both of you
The red color in that fried rice comes from a special bottled tomato sauce which is a local product and it's difficult to find in other areas in Indonesia. Usually people will order it by online. This tomato sauce makes the fried rice taste more distinctive and the colour looks more red than other fried rice. If you are still in Makassar, don't miss trying Coto Makassar, the famous traditional Makassar soup. If you want to get an authentic taste, try coming to Warung Makan Coto Makassar Haji Daeng Tayang there. Some foreigners who have been there will on average give 9-10 points for the taste.
sarabba in java island similar like "stmj"= susu-telur-madu-jahe , maybe someday you must try when cold temperature or rainy season..very delicious and healthy drink
in Indonesia there are 2 variants of brown sugar, first gula merah or gula jawa it came from coconut leaf liquid, second gula aren its came from palm tree called Aren
Enjoy your stay in Makassar, and please keep in mind if anyone mention about "susu" that means condensated milk. Pisang epe literally raw banana grilled then pressed then you can add brown sugar or chocolate. About price, you can always ask the price before ordering. Or just ask for the menu list, of they dont have it you can just move to the next gerobak/food cart About the language yes we use Indonesian language with Makassar style but of course you can always use general Indonesian language because people will undesrtand it too. They use Makassar style only when they know that they are talking to other Makassar/Bugis people
Pisang epe is only found in sulawesi cause the banana is typical banana only grow in sulawesi. And saraba is similar with Bandrek in Bandung.don't forget to stay safe and stay healthy.❤❤❤

Selamat menikmati lebih dulu Kota Makassar dan makanan makanan enaknya.
Firstly, welcome back to Indonesia. It was nice watching your videos. It's been a while since I last visited Makassar. If I were there, I would love to start my morning with nasi kuning (it's quite a heavy dish, so be prepared to feel full immediately). You should also try coto Makassar, a very tasty thick herb soup with beef and various condiments. There's also dry noodles topped with chicken soup-ish, and a snack called jalangkote (in some parts of Indonesia, it's called 'pastel'), barongko (it can be a bit hard to find this type of snack). Makassar is also well-known for its seafood dishes. Personally, I would order roti bakar or martabak with less sugar, less condensed milk, or less butter. Some vendors don't put price tags on their table menus, but they display them on their stall shelves. Anyway, I strongly recommend asking for the price first. Keep exploring, stay healthy, enjoy your stay, and always be happy.
Try bakean udang goreng; es palubutung, pecel, gado gado, nasi campur, mie goreng, fuyunghai with rice, as they are not the same as in Java. They ate so much flavourful like your nasi goreng merah. I was born in Makassar but have never really liked coti makassar but that’s just me.
Recommendations for dessert::: es Pisang ijo and es pallubutung, both uses banana.. Also try Coto Makassar, eat it with Buras, not nasi.. but seriously es Pisang ijo is a serious contender for best dessert in my opinion
I miss eating jalangkote in pantai Losari long time ago. Not the expensive one. I love the cheap one sold by street vendor. I can't find it here in Bandung 😢
Hi luke and naomi, i've been following your indonesia series and become a fan of it. Will you two be coming to Manado (North Sulawesi)? If so, let me know and maybe i can take you to try manado's famous fried bananas, tinutuan and other local dishes. Takecare and God bless
You should try to get up early and experience their breakfast meals too, in the morning Makassar offers plenty of varieties to choose from! The syrup they use on that banana pressed is actually made from palm sugar.
Next exploring to savaya beach club Bali, ATLAS BEACH FAST BALI, finns beach Bali, Gili Trawangan Lombok, Mandalika Lombok, mount Rinjani Lombok, toraja in Sulawesi, Raja Ampat Papua, and labuan bajo 🏝️ komodo dragon island in Flores INDONESIAN ❤️🇮🇩👍
