I like how Stevo backs up on the screaming, Cone gives emphasis on the beginning of a line, and Dave does backup on the chorus, all 4 members contributing to vocals is awesome.
Agree. They sounds great here. Not so much now unfortunately what happens to many great singers. I am 40 years old and have seen many concerts with bands in their prime and years later and things change. Life goes on.
Classic G-Body Garage well his drinking problems in the past is what caused him to not sound as great. now that he's done with drink. his voice still might not be the same when singing bit it still sounds great
@@ReikoGaming1 Agreed, I've watched several of their recent live shows and he really seems almost back to this sound again! Incredible story everything Deryk has gone through...
@@MegaTechpc True, I went to one of their concerts recently. He doesn't really have the same rasp in his voice however. None the less still an amazing singer.
Stevo was always such a criminally underrated drummer in this band! Also, Brownsound brought the METAL to this band (and you hear elements of that on this entire record).
The knee buckle that Deryck does at 1:45 is such a familiar thing to anyone who has sang live music that requires you to really belt it out. I've seen this video like 1000 times and just noticed it. This is definitely one of his best vocal performances.
***** I wholeheartedly disagree. Sum 41 is punk as shit. Some of their stuff is poppy, but Does This Look Infected really marked a turn in their music. Got heavy, deep, dark, and mature.
***** I agree with kingdom, the ramones are essentially the start of pop punk, you can't compare that Americanized punk to the hard sound of the clash and ruts.
Jesus people who honestly gives a fuck. Yes punk rock and rock and roll are two different things but it's all the same fucking genre. Quit being so knit picky, it's not like Letterman said they're a hip hop group or something lol
+Lysol and bananas It is "obvious I have never touched a guitar" Well, considering I have been playing for 10 years, have been in multiple bands, played gigs, recorded and am currently in a melodic death metal band, I think your statement is mute
+Lysol and bananas Also, watch BTBAM telos paul waggoner performance for good guitar technique. Watch how relaxed he is, his finger touch and picking hand.
punk rock can be on the radio depending on what station you listen to. bands like sum 41 and green day are still punk. they stand out for what they sing about. the important issues of the day and the feeling of alienation. I heard rise against on the radio the other day they are still punk. bands do not sell out they mature and develop
honestly they sound better live. i bought their happy live surprise album, better then any other album they have. and i need tickets soon for their tour with billy talent
