There was a reference to Janna in season 1 that I didn't see anyone mention. Vi and Powder are on a roof, Powder was feeling down cuz Milo blamed her, in an atampt to raze her spirit, Vi tells her about sometimes they all missed up in the past, when she got to her story she points at that stuffed rabbit stuck in the lines (it was Vi's), and says "I stare at it hoping a blast of wind or a blue bird nocks it down for me" For those who don't know Janna is a spirit of Zaun assiciated with wind and a blue bird.
It would be nice for people that don't play the game seeing her fight and thinking "Oh, it's just a cute little bird" and then her target gets deleted 😂
"We definitely want to explore other regions. At the same time, we've all seen shows and movies that they to cramé in too many different perspective too quickly. I think we gotta earn our way into a larger world view first." I can't express how relieved and glad I am to see that they understand this. With the connected universe and cross media mania these days, so many stories with great promise squander their potential by trying to rush into a broader world. Let Arcane develop into its own stable pillar before expanding around it. Runeterra can hold many great stories in the years to come and I'm so happy that the people who are building its foundation understand it.
I wonder if “war” is focused on Jinx and Vi while “forgiveness” is spread across all arcs a bit and “rubicon” refers to Viktor and Jayce as Viktor goes down his glorious evolution path. Just some speculation.
I'm thinking "war" is the world in general, "rubicon" is Jayce and Viktor, Heimer and Singed (and maybe Cait and her mom, smth with Ekko, etc.), and "forgiveness" is Vi and Jinx, Ekko and Heimer, maybe Mel and Ambessa
@@piercearora7681 I think war will hit with Singed too. While weapons can't be unmade, I think that Jayce probably won't sell Hextech weapons to noxus. I think Singed, like in the lore(which is technically irrelevant since they're different stories but it's a good guide) will make and become responsible for the chemical weapons Noxus uses.
Hello Schnee! I'm the guy who asked the "bigger fish than Silco" question. I found it odd no one seemed to understand the potential importance of Finn saying that, so I'm glad you expanded on it. I suggest that you read Urgot's lore to see where I was coming from. He's somewhat of a Zaunite rebel leader that was originally from Noxus that has a cruel and brutal mindset he developed from his past experiences. I figured he would be the best person to fill Silco's position because of the ambiguous foreshadowing, the fact he was from Noxus (so he can tie into those plotlines), and he's a badass who can stand up to Piltover's tyranny. He also feels like a natural progression of Undercity leaders starting with peacekeeper Vander, then morally-gray Silco, and finally with brutal wardog Urgot (thus fitting Season 2's setting). Although Alex said it'll be less obvious, so maybe it was something more along the lines of Janna or the crows. Although I feel this theory is too good to be skipped and would be good implementation of Urgot's character if they ever chose to use him in the show. Maybe season 3 then.
I have the impression that this "bigger fish" was the man with the hat who appeared in the first trailer and whose storyline was deleted in S1. When Alex says "I don't know if this will be apparent in S2.... but it didn't feel like it was important enough", I have the impression that initially there was this character with the big hat antagonist to Silco but that they scrapped this whole storyline even in S2. They still decided to keep Finn's line to have the whole story of Sevika's potential betrayal, while thinking that the viewers would think that Finn could refer to himself (at least, that's what I thought) I like your theory about Urgot though.
Looking back at that scene now I really considered Renata Glasc as the possible "bigger fish" in the pond that is Zaun. I know she's a newer addition to lol, she was released in February 2022 while Arcane came out November of 2021, but maybe that's exactly why she came out when she did. She's a Chem Baroness, she is another powerful woman added to Arcane which is already mostly women, She fills the power vacuum that Silco leaves behind and capitalizing on a market he no longer monopolizes. Or, if we're looking outside of Piltover and Zaun, we maybe be seeing a Noxian "bigger fish". A man powerful enough to kill the son of Mama Madarda is no laughing matter, and she says herself that people abroad have tuned into Jayce's Hextech and the possibilities of it's weaponry. Could this man be Swain, or maybe Darius? I don't know, it was a small moment, but definitely didn't feel like a throw away line.
dont forget the swain betrayed urgot too to gain power(or was it another darius or someone? I forget, cus rn in the story, urgot is in prison or he is being betrayed while he is being a executor

I wanted to add this to the original prediction video, but I guess it can go here: The way I see it, Sevika quitting smoking could actually be indicative of a greater arc- what if she also quits with shimmer? It would fit the idea of her turning away from the ideas of war as you said in the previous predictions, but it could also be very interesting in terms of her disability. Her prosthetic arm runs on shimmer, and it would be a really interesting conflict to see her grapple between all of these factors. Also, this could mean a possibility of a meetup between her and Viktor, as both of them are disabled Zaunites who turned to shimmer to help deal with the implications of their disabilities, however, while Sevika walks away from shimmer, Viktor embraces it with his new identity. Just a thought I had.
My wish for Arcane season 2 (and 3 if we are just dreaming here) is that the show goes for a French Revolution narrative with Zaun rebelling and Piltover in a power vacuum after the council has been blown up. The French Revolution is one of the craziest and most fascinating moments in history that you will ever read about, so it's perfect for a deep, nuanced show like Arcane.

It's interesting seeing various irl histories that ppl are comparing Arcane to, and I would LOVE to see a hardcore Revolution in S2! I also see potential parallels to the Irish famine, it wouldn't surprise me if a lot of the use-able/livable land in the undercity was owned by Piltover landlords.
5:29 Janna is basically a godess worshipped by people in Zaun. She controls air and the winds, and played a big role in saving the undercity from its initial destruction. She basically exists through people's faith in her, and she's stronger depending on how strong the faith is. So she's likely not the 'bigger fish' but she is pretty likely to be mentioned somewhere throughout the season, in some small way.
i dont think that what im about to say is very likely, but i would love for jannas lore to be changed slightly to make her fit in more as a goddess the people of zaun worship and have that newer version of her in arcane somewhere. shes an old champ and a visual update would do her well and maybe tie her in with the new aesthetics.
Rubicon also has an underlying subtext in regards to knowledge, It's hard to unlearn things, potentially this might be in relation to viktors relationship with the hexcore, shimmer and ?the void? Exciting stuff! Glad to see even the creators are giving you the recognition you deserve!
Also, with regards to cannon lore, At some point in the near future a huge amount of zaun supposedly gets destroyed in a catastrophic canal construction effort by piltover, this is where janna usually becomes involved in the cities story and even becomes revered as a god by some, although this might be old lore it's hard to say if that will occur in the up coming stroy.

When the collapse occurs janna starts to play a REALLY large part in the culture and beliefs in zaun, If the disaster had already occurred a part of me feels like they would have included details and hints, such as zaunites wearing charms and shrines, which we don't really see, which has me think it has yet to happen, or the writers don't plan on including her. Beyond that zaun had always been below piltover, piltover was built-over an ancient shuriman city known as Oshrava-zaun, during the collapse huge sections of zaun fall well below sea level making the height difference way more pronounced, and also signaling the final separation of the 2 cities where at first it was cultural and ideological, with the collapse cementing their divide physically. To me this is sounds like a story beat the writers wouldn't let slip past them, huge potential for narrative dualism with characters like jinx and vi as well as jayce and viktor. These characters all end up fundamentally opposed to each other, almost fated to come into conflict and if they are going to parallel these characters relationships with the dynamics between the 2 cities like they really enjoy doing, then this would be perfect. So Personally I can't see the catastrophe having occurred already. But this is just my rationalization given the context of the lore. What the writers will actually do, is still an exciting mystery! I kind of wish we could drop shnee in a room with a lore buff like necrit for a day and see what kind of cool thoughts he comes up with after probing them for info.
I also always wondered why Ekko, who was staunchly against anything to do with Topside, admired Heimerdinger so much. After all, Heimerdinger was the head of the council that caused the plight of Zaun. Seems like if there were anyone that Ekko would resent the absolute most, it'd be Heim. I hope we get that answer as well as what caused Vander and Silco to split. I suspect Silco wanted to blow up a children's hospital or something and Vander drew a line allying himself with the Enforcers at the last minute..
I feel that's rather obvious. While yes, Ekko does hate topside for its politics and classism, he is still at his core a young inventor, with a head full of ideas. If there's anyone on the council he'd be willing to admire, it's Heimerdinger. Jayce is too new and has the image of the "golden boy of Piltover" for Ekko to ever warm up to him outside of a 1 to 1 conversation (we the audience know Jayce is sweet, but basically no one in Zaun does).
I also think Ekko seems like much more of a pragmatist than the ideologues we see in the show like Silco and Vander to an extent (young Vander moreso than older Vander). He has no qualms working with Caitlyn the enforcer after its clear she doesn't mean him or his people harm, and she can help him protect the people he cares about. He has no reason to hold a grudge against Heimerdinger as that wouldn't get him or the Firelights anything, while bringing him in could possibly help him see the life the denizens of the undercity have to lead. Also, the Firelights are defined as a group of 'misfits', the ones Piltover and Zaun forgot about. In an ironic way, after Heimerdinger was evicted from the council, he fits that description as well. Arcane has a reoccurring message of forgiveness. Whether you agree that someone like Heimerdinger deserves it is another thing, but unless something changes in S2, that seems to be the direction they are heading
@@MultiMetar Thats the conclusion I came to as well. Maybe he looks up to Heimerdinger much like we would do with a celebrity. Heim can "do no wrong" in Ekko's eyes. We'll definitely see more about their dynamic in season 2!
@@PlatonicLiquid I'd have to disagree completely about Caitlin. Despite her meaning well, he did not give her an inch of trust outside of the favor he upheld to Vi. He even goes as far as to demand he be the one to bring the crystal to the council. This makes sense. He would be distrustful of any Topsider, especially Enforces and Councilmembers. But as I've mentioned in another comment, I think Ekko distinguishes Heim from everyone else, even though he is most certainly responsible for much of the plight and negligence Zaun suffered from. At this point Heimerdinger has started a path of humility and growth, so it's kind of a moot point, but I'd like it to be addressed in someway judging by how strongly, rightfully, Ekko feels about his oppressors.
BIG yes to "50 writing tips from Arcane writers". I was also pleasantly surprised when I saw so many writing questions from the community and actual answers from Arcane's writers.
I would guess that Ori and Janna wouldn't be the type to "pull the strings". Orianna is this curious young robot girl and Janna is this benevolent spirit of the wind. Neither are really themed around scheming or ruling or anything like that. Fiddlesticks also doesn't really fit this (a primordial demon that feeds on fear) because it's not really smart enough to make plans like that. Swain would be my best guess (though I'm sure if he wanted to be sneaky then Finn wouldn't have realized what he was doing). Either way, having a post credits style reveal that Swain was watching everything the whole time would blow my mind in all the best ways

I think so too, but how can they set up a conflict with swain and already introduced characters, where swain doesnt win 10 out of 10 times through knowledge and even just brute force (because of the whole deal with demon of secrets thingy)

Well sometimes people try to rectify issues they experience with certain professions by taking on those professions and acting as the change they want to see in the world, however that doesnt strike me as a very Vi approach to such an issue.

I'm so confident that Renata will be the so-called "bigger fish" because with the decline of Silco and Shimmer, Renata's products would be much more prominent and she could tout it as a safer alternative for Shimmer and the next evolution of chemtech because Piltover nobilities do use her augments. She is also the type of person who would aggressively capitalize on the loss of a business competitor especially since Silco once had a monopoly on Zaun.
I'm shocked more people don't think this. Renata makes so much sense. And since her character released after season 2 production has already started it would be difficult to work her in this season anyways so we'll just get some mentions.

This gives me an idea of where they could go with ekko. We haven't seen much of Scar (bat guy second in command for the firelights). It would be interesting to have Vander/silco broken in past vi/jinx broken now and then ekko/Scar relationship about to break.
You know what... the crows spying line, made me think of something. When jinx shot the crow, and Finn saying there is bigger fish than Silco, makes me think of swain. Did they show jinx shooting that crow to confirm that's shes messed up in the head or did they do that as a sly hint that she knows that swain is spying and pulling strings in zaun? Just some food for thought.
Once you get past the crazy persona, Jinx is pretty smart. I wouldn't be surprised if she knew. Also, with her mental issues, she does seem a bit paranoid. Even during a mental break she is able to dodge attacks. So, even if she didn't know the full details, she probably would pick up on that she is being watched.

Okay so Orianna/Janna are almost certainly not amassing power....buuut Camille is known to be a major force in Piltover, who you actually have playing in the background. There are hints of Orianna being Singed's daughter. Her lore has been reworked multiple time, so it wouldn't be stretch for it to be changed again and for her to be an automaton filling in for Singed's daughter. Janna has lore in Zaun, but never has been involved in any major plot points iirc. Camille is definitely the big expectation for season 2, coming from Clan Ferros, as an undercover detective/cop/fixer? She has a hextech heart and I don't remember whether it's still canon or not but she had some overlap with Caitlyn in the lore. IIrc there was someone in Piltover who left a calling card of "C", but i dont remember whether it was Camille or Cait investigating it.
Wasnt the C thing correlated to Corina as such in the LoR when you read some descriptions between the cards of caitlyn and related spells to her on the release of her expansion?
I agree that Camille is most likely (Clan Ferros even already mentioned), but Janna being a spirit amasses power when more people believe in her and pay tribute to her. In League lore, she is an old ocean wind spirit sailors turned to who lost favor after economic shifts in the area, but slowly regains it as an avatar for clean air when people in Zaun start turning to her for help. So in theory she could "amass power" albeit not in a "mob boss" kind of way more in a "my people need me" way. Still agree I'm not really sure how she would fit in the story at this point in time. Camille fits way more cleanly.
Arcane lore and League lore are just different lore universes. It becomes more apparent when you look at viktors arcane vs league lore so far. It's a good thing they aren't tied to the official lore and can do whatever, it also removes the plot armor of the champions
The answer to the Schnee question really got me thinking. The answer seems to imply that "some" of the things that we find meaningful could just be accidents. Human beings tend to find meaning in things where there isn't any. It's comforting. Dream analysis, the creation of "God", and especially conspiracy theories. In our desperation to make sense of things we connect dots that aren't necessarily connected. Let's take your recent video on Powders explosives progressing from harmless "mice" to "monkeys" to "piranhas" and finally into the shark. I love the theory and the video and I believe you are right but it's the most simple one that I can think of to express my thoughts. What if that was just an accident? What if that wasn't intended by the writers at all? Does it even matter whether it was intended or not? Is this a predictable result when the story teller keeps specific details vague? Does it automatically make a better story when room is left for the audience to investigate and find their OWN meaning? Is this ultimately why the "show, don't tell" method is superior? In analysis, people often adopt a "Death of the Author" mindset where the author's (or in this case, writers') original intent or personal feelings do not matter when reading into a certain piece of media. Everything is up to the audience and what they take from the story. Whether something was done intentionally or not is a tough question in and of itself because even unintentional choices are usually rooted in some subconsious knowledge of how a story works or what a character may do etc. It's like the whole "why are the curtains blue" question - does the author's intention discount the readers' emotion if the blue curtains tie into the emotion of the scene?

I think that what you are talking about is sort of what makes "Art". Leave things open to interpretation and let the viewer draw their own conclusions. No "right" or "wrong" answers to any of it.
I didn’t think about this before, giving jinx’s character arc seemed to have ended in the first season, but where does she go from here?! This will be the first time she is entirely looking after herself, without Vi, without Silco, no one trying to guide her moral principles or direct her chaos. Might Ekko try to reconnect with her, now that Silco is gone and Jinx has nothing to do with shimmer now? It’s hard to imagine her aligning with anyone now and im scared to know what looks like 😱😬😄💜
Piltover will come with everything to find Jinx in the Undercity because she kills many council members, the thing is Piltover and their Enforcers will face many factions down there: Sevika, Chembarons, Ekko (firelights) & Heimerdinger, Singed and eventually Warwick

The only place I can think of Jinx going is just more chaos and destruction for the hell of it. Vi's arc will probably be about trying to find her and potentially kill her(which is the only realistic option for harm reduction in Arcane), because she's completely alone and probably will stay that way.

I love your analyses and ideas :)) I know you are not much of a lore guy but some of us totally are and I have so many ideas - it's absolutely worth checking out the lore of Zaunite and Piltovan characters just to kind of understand their place in the world and how they might fit into Arcane. My guess is that Urgot won't be heavily involved in this season. As far as I am aware, he is an outsider, a noxian general who got dropped into Zaun after suffering irrepearable injuries in battle, but managed to build himself a new body as well as a cult. While he is a fascinating character, I do not see him fititng in with the other themes of Arcane at this time. Orianna is hinted to be the daughter of Singed, which would be interesting dynamic to explore, as she is also the living example of the Ship of Theseus. She was so ill that piece by piece parts of her body were replaced by robotic enhancements. I wonder if this would fit with Singed race to preserve life forever at any cost, and his daughter seemingly achieving this by becoming this immortal clockwork maiden. Camille is a Piltovan character that I admit I am not too knowledgable about, but if I recall correctly, her job is basically to pull the strings and keep the dynamic between the cities as it is - with Zaun controlled and exploited by Piltover. As the situation is so uncertain and dramatic, I wonder what her role will be in managing it. Another comment mentioned that the expectations are high for her in S2 and I can definitely see where they are coming from. Janna is more of an etherial being that people of Zaun believe in, one that brings fresh air and protects them from harm. She may have a moment but I don't think she will play a major role. I also had this funny idea about Blitzcrank, who is this gentle giant, lovable robot. Their lore got changed a few times but I remember them being created by Viktor. Again, this could kind of fit with Viktor's pursuit of life, as well as this kind of accidental fatherhood and how that fits with the themes of the show. And lastly, I saw another comment mention Renata Glasc, an extremely wealthy and successful chem-baroness who deals in medicine and also more recently... luxury perfumes, that seem to give her some power over those who use them. While I think that is a great point, I notice that Arcane is taking place a significant portion of time before the supposed 'canon' of the LoL universe. Jinx has not even begun to build her reputation as an individual unrelated to Silco, Ekko doesn't even have his Timewinder yet, and Viktor is still all fleshy and cute. It's the same reason I don't think Urgot will play a part - it is too early on the timeline. If Renata is active at all, it is not yet on a scale that would make her a major character, but it is enough to make her a potential future threat and a 'bigger fish'.
Before they show Renata they need to show Baroness Voss torturing Urgot and why that is going to be a bad idea. Also Viktor creating Blitz and Singed creating Orianna can be shown at the same time as a fold to eachother. I would put Ziggs in there also even if he doesn't seem very important for the overall story he still has a special relationship with Jinx. And in my opinion, Teemo will appear for sure. His mushrooms are from Zaun, he was already teased in S1 and Caitlyn needs to get her Yordle Snap Trap somehow.
Arcane has always lived in the gray areas, so I wouldn’t be surprised if the will be war, Rubicon, and a type of form of forgiveness. I adore that aspect of the show. They treat you like an adult who can take from it what you wish to see.
Schnee, you’re honestly the best. I’ve been an aspiring writer ever since I was in middle school, but obviously my writing sucked ass at the time. I fell into a really bad depression because of that and other personal issues, when I found your RU-vid channel after getting into Arcane. All of your tips and helpful analysis helped me pick up writing again, though I hope I can regain the pure passion I had a long time ago.
I feel like if they're gonna add Camille as the expansion of Piltover characters since Cait and Vi's enforcer partners thing is now in act in S2, they would also add Renata. Because those two are enemies and Renata is a chem baroness. We'll probably see Urgot, but in my opinion they added Renata to game just when Arcane S1 ended almost as if saying this is what's next. They introduced the concept of chem improvisations, chem barons of Zaun and "shimmer" with Arcane and just as it ended they added a Zaunite chem baroness character who specializes in shimmer. She is also Camille's archenemy, so if they add her they will add Renata too. Maybe not as the "big fish", but probably as a side Zaunite character. Maybe Singed will work for her as she wants and uses the shimmer, and we'll see Urgot as the top dog above all as the new leader of undercity.
I just have to say: you are one of the best in this kind of thing I have never understood why good storys would shake me up so much Because they are „just“ storys but with all the emotions that are in play we just can‘t not care
Randomly I typed Arcane back into YT's search bar after having a years worth of grass grow over my initial obsession with it. I found your videos and all I came here to say is that you are the smartest guy I have seen on this platform talking about writing. None of the other creators I thought were great come close. I hope for season two that the tables turn with Jayce and Viktor, in the sense that viktor is already seen as the lesser of the two. I want him to hopefully dive a bit into the LOL lore and get the recognition he deserves from both piltover and zaun
In regards to whether or not season 3 will stay in Piltover and Zaun or go somewhere else entirely, I believe it will largely remain in P&Z. My reasoning for this is that in Bridging the Rift Episode 5, its mentioned that after season 2 they will start to zoom out to get a larger picture. The thing is, when you zoom out, you're typically still centered on the point you were originally looking at. So while we will start to hear more from other regions of Runeterra, P&Z being an important trade city both in its location and with its Hex Gates, will remain the central location that everything revolves around. We've already seen from Ambessa that the world pays attention to what happens in Piltover, so this makes perfect sense. Then Christian's response about earning a larger world view really lines up with this, as well his comment about feeling a connection between different stories that take place elsewhere entirely. I could see season 3 giving us a central story that's happening in P&Z and then another story in say, Noxus in which we're seeing a conflict happening based on what's been happening in P&Z (i.e. something along the lines of preparing for a Noxian invasion). On top of that, when Alex talks about referencing someone who would take Silco's place in the long run, he says it may not be apparent in season 2, which further reinforces the idea that P&Z will still be the primary focus of Season 3 and beyond. The way he says that just implies that it will come later down the line.
It's really nice to see creators engaging in a positive way with their audience; I have the impression that we need that to be more common these days. Now I'm going to get my Netflix subscription to actually see Arcane; your videos unintentionally sell it very well
I love Arcane so much and am watching it for the third time. thank you so much schnee I have learnt so much from you about breaking down stories and characters and it's really fun to see even more details that I can find in Arcane as well as other films!
Also, if the crows are a relevant plot point, that would most likely indicate swain, meaning an invasion from Noxus was always in the works, they were just waiting on Jinx to cause instability in the capitol. They knew she would do something to upheave the social fabric of Zaun and Piltover and leave a power void. That power void would be an excellent opportunity to strike.
yeah, I'd love to watch some sort of "writing tips from Arcane writers" video! I'm super interested in this! And since I think your Analysis videos are some of the best on RU-vid, I'd love to know HOW you analyse stuff. There is just so many things I was never able to pick up in Arcane and everything you say and analyse just makes sense and seems.. just right. I want to develop this kind of skill as well, because I like writing myself and I think this would help as well. So I would really appreciate if you could explain that in a video or as part of a video! Keep up the good work!

5:44 I am a lore fanatic, and I can guarantee that it is not fiddlesticks. He has no concept of human politics, though it might be possible he could comprehend it if he cared enough - he acts "dumb and silly" because that is his most effective terrifying persona, and the only thing he really craves is terror, he feeds off of emotions, specifically fear, so he is as fearsome and terrifying as possible and that's all he cares about. Just built different. Also, if this is supposed to be at least somewhat cannon, he is currently stuck in Demacia feeding off of demacians and their fear of mages, and everything else really. Swain though would make sense, especially if he is at opposition with Mel's family, Swain uses his demon which he captures somehow (Raulm, the demon of secrets) to gather knowledge and wisdom across continent and use it for political power of Noxus, which might be relevant if Noxus gets involved in S2. Just wanted to clear up, Finn definitelly can not even comprehend Fiddlesticks exitence, let alone consider him a "bigger fish" in political schemes of Zaun, that sounds like some Dante Axe parody at best.
Swain from Noxus has crows/ravens all over the place. i bet the bigger power that comes in will be him. that would tie together why Mel’s mom is in Piltover and the jinx having crows in every scene thing too🤯
I would love the 50 writing tips. Also, I can’t wait to see the g l o r i o u s e v o l u t i o n come to life. Ever since I saw Viktor’s running scene, I felt connected to his character. The full commitment, the perseverance, the boat symbolizing his past and him outrunning, the fact it might have hurt but still ran like there was no tomorrow left me mesmerized. I hope we see more of this in season 2.
YES, I LOVE YOU BROTHA THANKS FOR THE HOPE. I truly think they'll make it a point to bring Jinx and Vi together, especially with Caitlyn and VI having a "scene vi and Caitlyn shippers will hate" which leads me to believe she chooses Jinx this time :). I think making Jinx not fight her demons and VI just become an enforcer because they just want to is so one-dimensional and not like the writers. All and all I hope and I wouldn't be surprised if Vi and Jinx were finally reunited! (I have a more In depth theory to back it up)
I can definitely relate to the need or desire to find the right angle to tell a story. as a person who's working their best or so on trying to figure what they're looking at and how to tie it together into everything, I certainly have a lot of work put into actually finding the right starting point in constrast to the story and figuring out not just how to tell it but what it is overall. each story is the life of characters and focus points; one or multiple people, lessons, stories, truths, etc, PILLARS. and how you portray it isn't the only thing that matters, developing it out, themes, stories, lives, those people/creatures you run into as well as various other things like pacing and angle all MATTER deeply when it comes to telling a story in some way. never skimp on this or skim through telling it's detail but you shouldn't overdo it either, consider who is listening or reading, absorbing your story after all.
Forgiveness ain´t the same thing as Returning. In fact many would say Forgiving someone is the true point of no return, forgetting the grudge and pain, moving on, which is what jinx should become. Starting as a child, insecure about her power and usefullness, que Jinx in league, ending up in giving into her coping mechanism, destruction, but still cherrishing her childhood joy of inventing. Otherwise, i believe urgot being a majour Part, perhaps along with singed would be the right thing to do. Adding or focusing on one region per season just seems right. And those two just make it very smooth to transition from perhaps a start in Noxus, sending men because of the Mdardas, and singed leading into ionia for the next season.
In the first question " will we ever get to see a younger silco [...] Also any flashbacks [...]" The response "you will, in fact" has to be a confirmation if the first question, because of the wording. It can also be both, but that is not guaranteed. I dont think there is a possibility that it refers only to the 2nd question.
If I had to guess, "War" and "Rubicon" might heavily tie into Vi becoming an Enforcer. That's a kind of choice that Vi will not be able to ever walk away from as a Zuanite - even working with Cait could be argued as a quid pro quo of being released (doubly so if Caitlyn did so illegally by forging Jayce's signature), but putting on the blue armor? And right now, one of the few things right now that could push Vi to the Enforcers is war, which also has two options. First is the 'simple' form: Noxian invasion, Vi decides the best way to defend those she cares about is to enlist as an Enforcer as that's Piltover's army and Zuan doesn't have one that she can link up with what with her probably being on Sevika's short list, with this being her Rubicon moment because once she puts on that blue armor she's in many ways (perceived as) betraying Zuan. Thus feeding into the Jinx/Vi to Vander/Silco parallels: Vander "capitulated" to Piltover by working with Grayson, this is Vi joining them.. However, more terrifyingly but also potentially more interesting is if the war is the expected Piltover-Zuan battle by way of Sevika (or the third factor) getting the house in order for a ChemTank rush before Piltover could leverage their Hextech weapons in large enough amounts to counter it, putting the shoe on the other foot and unleashing Zuan's generations of pent up anger in a full on sack of Piltover. Both war and a Rubicon, especially because this could actually cause Vi to ask herself "is this what I was willing to fight and die for, what I was willing to surrender myself for?" now that she can no longer see all of Piltover as collectively guilty for her suffering. This would also amplify the sense of betrayal because this means turning much more directly against Zuan rather than working for the bucketheads in blue as a means to an end. Though the second one has a LOT of baggage that would need to be unpacked because let's not kid ourselves, it's going to be a hell of a tonal and optical challenge to recognzie that the devastation caused in that scenario to Piltover is in many ways deserved for how Zuan was treated while not glossing over that two wrongs don't always make a right. That said, given the baggage I also could see them wisely choosing to thread a much easier needle because full of potential as it is that's also super easy to mess up. As to Caitvi hate and love... I can't help but wonder if it might end up becoming that meme of "Jinx gets Therapy OR CaitVi get together": Caitlyn and Vi get closer, but it also is pushing Jinx further down her madness. I mean, given the sextech scene, I could absolutely see cupcake munching getting paired with Jinx suffering even more to highlight how far apart the two sisters have become (especially if at the time, Vi and Caitlyn have reason to believe that Jinx is okay in terms of 'not in an active breakdown').
Regarding who will fill the void left by Silco's death, I found that Sevika's last scene was very telling: she's in Silco's office smoking his cigar. This suggests she'll at least try to replace him.
I think seson 2 will coclude many of the stories in the show, but not in a way that they can't go back to it. Even with seson 1 and 2 being worked togethe it took a really long time to develop. So I think they will hybrenate it for a while and bring it back in like 5 years. The main reason I think this, is that they already made a lot of asets and world building for the show and it would be stupid to let it go to waste when theres a lot of intresting stories that can be told in P/Z.
When I first watched Arcane on release I had noticed the crows, but I forgot about them cause everything else was happening and never thought of them again until you mentioned it in this video just now. Crazy how something that had stricken me as odd or a reference could just escape my mind like that. With all of the other themes going on, I think Swain is more likely than Fiddle, since there is a connection to Noxus already. I'm not sure if Fiddle has a "area" he acts in, but his whole thing is being the oldest primordial demon of Fear itself, and just off the top of my head he doesn't strike me as the kind of character Arcane would be interested in. He never seemed to me like he had any... sentience or intelligence? not sure if those are the right words. More like, he can lure people and knows how to scare them, but it seems very animalistic, instinct driven. I guess what I'm trying to say is that Fiddle wouldn't have crow spies in a bustling massive city to watch one person lol
Tbh I would love it if Renata Glasc were thrown into Arcane Season 2. She is the “big bad” or at least the biggest threat to Piltover and Zaun in the current lore, so maybe her rise to power could be an interesting thing to see.
Obviously this isn't the route the creators are going, but I was hoping they would do a totally different setting, with different characters and different stories altogether. Like White Lotus or American horror story. I have zero League of Legends knowledge but god dayum I loved this show and it's honestly hard to imagine it getting better than this. I personally really like the idea of ambiguously ending it here. I'm probably in the minority here but thats just my perspective. I'm excited, and I trust this writing team, but I'm trying not to get my hopes too high because season 1 is *chef's kiss*
My personal theory is that Viktor might become the main antagonist at some point. Silco was the main antagonist in season 1. As in: different parties had to team up with each other in order to defeat him; kind of a common threat to a lot of characters. And Silco was a brilliant main antagonist to start with. His character consisted of enough shorthand to quickly establish him as a villain (e.g. being a drug lord, physical appearance) but was still complex enough to not make him feel completely cliche. But I can't help but feel like it had a narrative purpose to kill him off in the end of season 1 and that is to make room for someone bigger in season 2. And I just feel like it's going to be Viktor as the Machine Herald. And if they do that, it would be absolutely brilliant. Building up Viktor throughout whole season 1 as someone who had a lot to suffer through and was always kind of powerless, which made him evolve some difficult emotions, but all in all still being rather an innocent idealist and then transforming him later on into a super powerful but corrupted and dangerous version of himself .... I'd be such a sucker for that. It would be so satisfying on the one hand to finally see him in power but on the other hand I'd be like "no, my boy, what are you doing?! Ahh". And Arcane lives from ambiguous feelings like this. It would just fit so perfectly. So ya. That's my theory. Probably I'm late to the party and a lot of people guessed it already before me, haha. But my comment is here, let's see if the next season does it make happen :3
I have a feeling that wont happen, hes more of a science person, he will build and create stuff, but he is not the type of person who would go hard into politics
He is an idealist though; he wants technology to serve and improve the lives of people and he wants it passionately. And he's already ready to cross some smaller moral / legal boundaries for it (like going to Singed and getting himself some shimmer). But ideologies can get corrupted and extremist and if you read up a little bit of LoL lore about the Machine Herald you might get an idea what an extrapolated and corrupted version of Viktor's idealism might look like. It might shift from "technology should improve the lives of people" to "technology should improve people".
It's not so incredibly far fetched; he might find that it works for him - he's in fact already in the process of augmenting himself technologically - and now he wants to bring this "blessing" to the whole world. Give him the whole destructive power of HexTech and maybe sprinkle in a little bit of corruption of his mind by the hexcore, to extrapolate his idealism and obsession, and you got an absolutely terrifying villain. He wouldn't be a political villain like Silco, oh no no no. With him it would be a much more raw force of nature - or rather: technology - kind of thing. And it would be such a good upping of the stakes compared to season 1 to shift the perspective: now all of this political stuff suddenly seems very small and unimportant, when a much more existential threat comes around. It might be the exact thing Heimerdinger keeps warning everyone about.

So my partner has played League of Legends for 10 years, pretty much since it's birth. He was the one who got me into it as well and I've started playing, I have favorite characters (Wukong, Vi, Jayce, & Braum to name some) and when we heard Arcane was coming out we wanted to watch it together and we did. Now my partner is really into the dairy crafting part of League and Arcane in a general sense. Like he showed me every single character video that he think I would like from leagues RU-vid channel and I do have some more favorite characters. But one of the ones that he had a really good theory on that I think holds water is the fact that Vander is indeed Warwick in the game, I'm sure it's been confirmed and I'm really hoping that we get that birth of the Wolf because Warwick is Vander in a sense because Vander was called The Wolf of Zaun iirc. Also the stuff was Victor in Arcane being a feeble man who's disabled and in the game he's pretty much a hextech robot creation of his own design (again iirc, my partner really never told me much about Victor in the game) I can't wait to see something like that possibly later on or maybe we're not going to get it. I feel glad to have someone like my partner who is so into League of Legends of the game and he was really excited to watch Arcane with me and tell me a little bit more backstory about some of the characters that were featured in the series.
Regarding the "bigger fish than Silco" comment: remember those shimmer shipments coming through the hexgates? Somebody on the council or in a similarly high position in power had to sanction those. That somebody probably has a vested interest in Zaun and agents that act as their proxies. That may or may not be someone on "the undercity council" since we saw it had several members. It could even be a foreign power since Piltover is a major trade hub of Valoran and close to the major port of Shurima. Either way, can't wait to find out!
