Another great video, thank you! I'm a BJJ practitioner and I have difficulties with some takedowns due to my age and poor mobility. This breakdown is a most excellent tutorial and I can see how I could* apply it. Still, my greatest weakness is forcing certain techniques and the inability to recognize when a particular takedown is appropriate. I'm usually a push and when they push back a Tai Otoshi, but I'm thinking if I can get this grip and can time their momentum into me this is a good option. I have training tonight and usually spend a few minutes after drilling so I will work on this tonight. Thank you again!

can you do a video on sweeps/trips to use in MMA or self defence, like fast ones that you can do while moving forward
@TNTTestificate

@The 401K I should have specified techniques that do not require you to grab the opponent's leg. Basically one-handed takedowns that can be done from a caught kick or by tripping your opponent over your leg. Not sure what they are called. I do know that Machida uses a lot of them.

Loving these vids, he seems like a great guy I can’t lie. I’m from the striking arts side of things, I do kickboxing, karate and I’ve dabbled in boxing and taekeondo but this is great. All fights start on the feet but most fights finish on the ground. It’s helping me understand a lot. I’m 17 so I’ve still got a lot to learn but this helps a lot!.

3:40 why don’t you do sumi from the other side in reverse? Just a preference? Only do it when it’s R vs L? I like the bait trick, just wondering why

Definitely can do it against a single leg. Can grab close wrist and far lat or Kimura grip far arm.

Thank you for this longer form video. I wouldn’t mind you making the videos 10 min long so you can get more money from RU-vid for your views. You can always go on about whatever history you know about any move or even try and find clips of those moves being done in tournaments. To add more time to your videos. 2 min intro explanation 2 min outro explanation. 6 min of drill. Please try adding longer videos so you can get more videos.
