May the summer footage begin. Uploads every Monday! Please comment, I really appreciate hearing from you guys!
This morning was supposed to involve a lovely Parks and Sons PendPac, however that truck was nowhere to be found. Then this lovely beast shot out of a side street. I would have a lot more footage but my camera has been acting up quite often now, it refused to turn on various times throughout my time in Sun City West, which BTW, has been added to the Arizona Route Map on Google (g.co/maps/nra7z for those of you who have not seen it). As a side note, this is the truck featured of Parks and Sons website.
Also, I would like to call to attention the amount of waste these seniors generate. In Washington, the common weekly set out was a 35 gallon Cascade filled with two grocery bags. Here, they fill up their steel cans and then some. Trash is picked up twice a week, an uncommon practice now, this particular area is collected of Mondays and Thursday with recycling every-other Wednesday. Despite the large amounts of recyclable material you saw entering the hopper, they still have large recycling set outs.

Parks and Sons are really good about picking up extra garbage. No questions asked. If it's not to bulky, away it goes. Thankyou P&S

WOW! That is insane, Those guys really run there asses off. I'm a bit surprised that Sun City hasn't gone automated garbage collection. Hats off to those hard workers.

Thanks, Kenny! Yeah, I don't know of anywhere else that has anything like this, but they've been doing this system since the '60s!

These guys sure are quick! Makes me tired just watching them run all over the place! They've gotta be exhausted by the end of the day, especially in this heat! Great job to you and the crew!

Thanks, Jaccob! Really liked this truck in particular, sounds great and that pusher axle! Hope to get more of this truck soon, or even better, one of their 2RIIs!

Thanks, Parks and Sons have been doing these cans since the '60s. They aren't as fast as the previous crew I filmed, but they're quick. It doesn't get too hot, they start at around 6 and finish the entire city at 10.

Thanks, it's a pain but that's how they tackle the route in just under four hours. The entire city is underground cans, along with Sun City, Sun City Grand, Arizona Traditions and Corte Bella. You can get more info on their site, they're a really cool company. Thanks again!

Yup! In Washington we had a 32 gallon cart collected every other week. Apx. 10 bins of recycling (bi-weekly) and that was with cans and metal going to a scrap yard. We composted all of our greens. I'm going to be up in your neck of the woods in the coming weeks, anything interesting up there anymore? I assume Rabanco's Amrep recyclers are lonnggg gone. I suppose there'a always CleanScape's Lodals. Murrey's manual trucks are gone, all automated. Anyway, thanks for the comments!

damn.. running around all day in Arizona heat. WOO! lol these guys are quick though, underground cans are not meant for swift collection but they sure find a way to do so anyway. Nice footage

I'll get more for you guys as soon as I can. But I have school right after I get back home, and it starts at 7, so I won't be able to get footage before school. It'll have to wait until I'm off one day, hopefully before spring break :/. Glad you liked it!

They run without stopping for four hours! Pretty amazing, eh? They do a remarkable job, and the seniors love them! Automation wouldn't work here, seniors wouldn't follow orders and keep filling up their underground bins. This is a 65+ area, I believe. They would be hell to pay if anyone dared to remove their underground barrels! There's another area just like this (Sun City Festival) a ways away, and even Republic stays 100% manual for them. I'm getting them some doughnuts next time I see them

Very cool! Wft! How much trash can these elders make?!?! Out here in Squamish our elders have 20,maybe a 30 gallon trash can that goes out MAYBE once a week. One every 2 weeks is common. Very cool truck here. Reminds me of a place I know. Lol Very nicely done!

I'll try to film my old driver, but I have no clue what's going on up there anymore. I was there when they automated recycling and no longer accepted glass, but since I left, they added yard waste collection as well. We don't have an exact date but probably early June. We're staying in Camarillo (EJ footage) for a couple days and Rockaway Beach (In Oregon, lot's of 2RIIs and Lodals) for a while.

@garbageboycd Totally. It's a lot! Out here in northern WA we just don't make that much trash all around. I'm a house of 4 and we have a 20 trash can and fill up 64 gallons of recycle every 2 weeks and 96+ greens every 2 weeks. It reminds me of my house, we use 17 yd rls though.

Thanks, Alan! Apparently a lot, like I mentioned, I'm used to the 50+ communities set out small grocery bags once a week, with barely any recycling. I like the truck, it reminds me of the first grear model but with several key differences. Where does this remind you of? Thanks again!

Great, Wish I could have filmed their IRLs and Maxons when I had the chance. $1,000 fine? Sheesh, that's a little yard. Maybe the driver didn't want to be filmed and came up with an excuse. If you could PM me momentarily, that'd be great!

Your welcome! Do you mean steel cans or these underground cans? Where are you from? These underground style cans aren't at all common anymore.

I like how unique the system is. But if I were in their shoes, I wouldn't want to lift those giant red tubs all day lol. Great vid. So is the city all manual or just this one area?

@garbageboycd Out here everything is shit. Murrey still has semiauto in puallyup. The CleanScapes Lodal (only one of them do they have) is impossible to find. I go so damn lucky. It's done by 8 AM. Also, idk if I've told you or not but AW/RWS hates youtubers out here. I was filming rabanco and almost got a 1,000$ fine for "exposing their inner workings" so any rws branch isn't worth filming. I know of some nice trucks. We might have to get together on a Monday .
