Hi everyone!
Summer is here, but not as we know it. This adventure takes me and my good friend Dave on some challenging bridal ways whilst being battered by the inclement weather in the Lake District, UK.

Thanks for the video Allen. That's a typical summers ride!! lol. I've ridden the Nan Bield Pass the other way without any gear on the bike. A fun descent that way. Can't say I'd like to bike pack over that though. Fair play to you. 🙂

Weather looks fantastic! really enjoy a nice bit of Bway in summer, not sure i would carry/push my bike up and down Nan bield though, as you probably know the reverse on an unladen mtb is a stonking descent, pretty Leftfield ending up at the Lingy hut back o skiddaw on this expedition, always wondered what that descent was like from the hut, any singletrack?

Man Bield HAB was incredible. I have a few things planned in the next 10 or so months, so I don’t mind a bit of pushing and shoving! The decent wasn’t too bad, but there wasn’t much jumping and skidding involved. Mostly just a grassy/muddy track down. Thanks for watching!

Nice video Allen, quite the adventure! What tyres would you recommend for bikepacking on a mountain bike? Ive seen some people say Maxxis Rekon up front and Maxxis Ikon in the back is a good combo. What do you use? Cheers

Ah thanks so much! It was certainly a full on trip. I use Ardents front and back, they’re a bit worn now and the rear is more of an Ardent race with over 2000km on 😂 going to try a Honcho/ Ehline set up next.
