summer horror book recommendations ☀️🔪 

Immediately added Cold Moon Over Babylon to my want to read list. I'm moving to Knoxville, TN from California this upcoming Saturday so I'll be roadtripping for 4 or 5 days! Today I found this mass market paperback of On the Beach by Nevil Shute that I'll probably start tonight, although it would be fun to read during the trip... anyway it's a dystopian novel that's apparently more disturbing than horror, but maybe you'll be into that!

I love summer scaries!! ☀️😬 Nothing better than a Christopher Pike by the pool. The Ruins was the first one I thought of! I read it a couple years ago and I still think about it often. Really enjoyed The Deep, Beast, and Jaws by Peter Benchley as semi-horror summer reads. Just started reading The Island by him and it doesn’t seem as good as some of the others but it does seem like it has potential to be spookier.. maybe 😂 My favorite summer Stephen Kings are Gerald’s Game, Pet Semetary, Salem’s Lot, and Cujo. I get the itch to re-read a lot of them during the summer but I’ve got too many to-reads for that 😂

I'm excted to pick up Coyote Songs bc I'll be leaving for Austin for 3mos and this just sounds like a must while I'm there. Also The Devil All the Time?! Serial killers and evil preachers...I'm sold. I love to watch a video of bad but good mass market horrors too!

I’m excited you’re dipping into Clive Barker’s Books of Blood. Definitely recommend the further volumes! They run a great gamut from both humorous and horiffic. Also just read A Head Full of Ghosts by Tremblay. Fucking devastating. Cannot wait to read Cabin at the end of the world! Tremblay is definitely one of my new favorites.
