Have you heard of Hygge? It's a defining characteristic of Danish culture. It means "a quality of coziness and comfortable conviviality that causes a feeling of contentment or well-being." I enjoy honoring & following the Danish example by bringing Hygge into my own life in each season. It's a beautiful practice.

It's amazing how times just flies by. I remember when you and Byron didn't have children yet and when you said 16 years I couldn't believe it. Of course then I realize that I'll be married 45 years in Sept. and that blows my mind. I really enjoy seeing how your family is growing and thriving. I assume your brother's children are the ones coming to visit and that's wonderful. I had an aunt and uncle I was very close to all my life till they passed away. When I was 18 they moved to N.C. and I remember being crushed, but I visited all the time enjoyed my time there. It's important for cousins to get together. The garden is looking lush and I'd love to learn about different teas and see what you make.

Calendula is pure magic, I always use my calendula cream in the summer to apply on mosquitos bites, it gives you an immediate relief and it is all natural 😌 so good to have your own to grow

I started gardening two years ago and didn’t want raised beds but didn’t want to deal with weed pressure. So I followed the no dig method and put cardboard down before the mulch. Two years later, only a handful of weeds to deal with in the garden. Hallelujah!

Summer it's a great season but seems to go by so quickly. Thanks for the gardening tips; especially about calendula. This year I finally created a small transportable herb garden. I travel for my biz and so everything in my life has to be able to move with me. Could you please share the stretching video? I am not :) Some of my extended family members are. I learned about Hygge when I visited Norway, and I've enjoyed honoring & following the Danish example by bringing Hygge into my own life in each season. It's beautiful. Hopefully my sharing and giving credit to the origin of this practice (in my description box) is tasteful & respectful to the Danish culture.
