Absolutely agree. I can't believe how bad the clothes look in their professional shots with horrid, unnatural poses. SO much better on a regular and attractive woman, i.e. Melissa.

Lovely suggestions and I love how you show us how changing something as simple as your shoes or accessories can really transform the outfit from plain to fabulous 🤩, I will definitely keep that in mind when getting dressed.😊

I have just done a massive closet purge and I feel so great about it, I now have space in my closet and mind for the items I should be wearing for my body type. Well I am a great fan of Love Notions patterns, they are an indie company from the States and do pdf patterns. I think I own most of theirs and they cover most of Melissa’s recommendations, I think. You could also take a look at Pattern Emporium patterns, she is an Australian designer and the unusual thing with her website is you get a video tour of all the possibilities with her wearing them. Oops! Sorry! Workout shoes like New Balance, On Cloud, Hoka, etc. If you search RU-vid for workout wear/athletic wear over 40 you find NOTHING. It’s a HUGE market here in the US, and no one does full styling you can go from the gym to errands in. It’s HOT here, too, which adds to the difficulty of creating this look.

Thank you for another great video Melissa. I have bought several items in the past from your suggestions and am gradually building my capsule wardrobe. When styling a shirt/ top such as when it was tucked into your bra please could you turn round or turn to the side so the effect at the back can be seen. It isn’t clear whether the back was left long or shaped in some way. I’m sure it is important the back view looks good too. Thank you. Also I think the Venetian dress looks better on you than the model on the web page 😊.

These are my favorite videos of yours: fairly general advice for all. The Stradivarius outfit and the stripey (almost backless) dress are so cute on you. All timeless classics.
I love the outfits in this video, you have really inspired me! I have come to the same conclusion as you (after many years of trial and error) that I only like flesh coloured shoes for summer, and that flat shoes have to be pointy toed! They are so hard to find, though, when I find them I buy lots of pairs and wear them to death in spring and autumn - they go with everything. Those ones you wear in this video with the denim jumpsuit are so beautiful - just perfect. I wish they were still in stock! I love gladiator sandals, but I have chunky calves and so I can only wear them with long skirts or trousers that end below the widest part of my calves. Sadly, I could not wear them with shorts like you can. I love the Stradiverias matching outfit - I would never have tried on something matching before, but you have inspired me! I can see how the handbag really makes the look, but I can't wear handbags because they give me neck and shoulder pain. I can only wear rucksacks. Also, because I live in London and don't have a car, I always carry around so much stuff with me like a bottle of water, so that I can't just wear a little handbag.

All your dresses are spot on, especially for someone who is petite like me I struggle some of the must have pieces for vacation.ARe the gladiators comfortable and can they be worn the whole day.I always end up wearing my sneakers especially if I’m in Italy or Spain.

Another great video with lots of tips. I’m somewhat guilty of forgetting the accessories but this video really accentuates the importance of building an entire outfit. Short and sweet format is great but I do prefer the longer more in depth type. (Since you asked)

I’ve just been doing my financial accounts and noticed that almost all my spending on clothes seems to happen on a Sunday evening after watching one of your videos 😂🤣 I wonder why 🤪 I often find the clothes are sold out in my size but I can usually find something similar - for example in H&M the coord in green print is sold out but they have quite a nice looking one in a blue print that I am going to try. I am not keen on showing any midriff myself but the green Zara dress and Stradivarius outfits on you look 😘 👌

I like this style as have time to watch it. I always style my whole outfit so it was very helpful. I’m currently thinking about things to wear with wider leg jeans as know it needs to be shorter and closer fitting than when I was in skinnies, I have more or less given up on skinnies as I can’t get a good fit anywhere as my waist/ hip ratio has changed. When I go up a size my legs are swamped. Thank you.

It would be a very short video I’m afraid as I literally stick everything in the washing machine and more often than not in the dryer too!!! I never dry clean or hand wash but I do use a very low heat setting for anything delicate (wool, silk etc). X

Goodness Melissa you could wear a sack and look amazing. I went shopping today and as usual came home depressed 😔. I did get some nice earrings though! Several links aren't clicking through to websites for me, possibly the H&M items, I'm in the UK. Really looking forward to the next video x
As you said, wide and cropped pants make you look wider so instead of compensating with the right shoes, I avoid them. They look silly on leggy people. I like long wide leg but they are really hard to get long enough. Tall people can get away with slightly short skinnies but not short wide legs... look like they shrank.
I'm so envious of these beautiful outfits, because as an American living in Europe, I'm just so frustrated that I cannot find any pants that fit me. I am on the cusp of plus size, but even when I find my size, the waist is so much smaller than the hips, so going a size up or down is problematic. I don't have this issue in the US. Where do larger women with pear shapes buy jeans and pants??? I've tried all the major brands--Zara, Mango, Oltre, H&M, OVS, Upim, Levis, etc...

Me too. And I feel, it's better not to buy all at once, because I tend to be a little "enthusiastic" when shopping and end up with pieces for my fantasy life.
I never see these nice pieces in shops near me ! I need to get better at visualising how clothes will look on me rather than how they look on the model
