Today we’re talking about Summer Tech
Specifically, the Core Equipment 12-Man Instant Cabin.
This thing is a MONSTER! You won’t be doing any backpacking with this beast. But if you need a tent for 12 people, you’re probably not packing things in on your back.
My wife and I borrowed this from a generous friend and I’m going to share how we liked it.

Good review. Yes, with four young boys, you would definitely appreciate the extra ventilation. With the floor noise, I would suggest buying a relatively cheap tarpaulin from the hardware and throw under the tent before you set it up. That way, it is plastic on plastic, not plastic on grass. Also, I am assuming that you have a wagon and/or trailer to go camping in. Get some foam mats for the floor. It will provide insulation, a smoother (safer) surface to walk on and also it will pretty much kill the noise. I would also take a second look at the joins that you pointed out. On either side of that particular seam, those triangles were asymmetric. I am wondering if they were asymmetric to the door. Was the other side of the door a mirror image of that seam. If so, it may be quite deliberate that it isn't asymmetric. I would also rethink how you put the rain fly over. Set the tent up to half way, spread your fly loosely, then extend the legs. That will make it much easier to finish off once the tent is at full height. Good luck camping with 4 young boys...you will need it. :)

Thanks for your thoughtful reply to this video! And for watching it! I loved the feedback and will try setting the rainfly up before fully setting up the whole tent. The only pushback I would give to that is that I love to setup the tent without the rainfly whenever possible because you can see out of the top so well at night. But I will definitely give that a try!

Maybe they used tarp material because its durable and water proof and will probly be in contact with the ground. Also for me if Im camping I'm not gonna be spending much time in the tent with the noise anyway.

Cool video, I have to confess, you stepping and dog poop made me laugh! It reminded me of the time my Uncle Bob stepped in dog poop when I was a kid with his bare feet, he got our vacuum out and vacuumed his foot, I remember laughing so hard, thanks for bringing back that memory! Nice! We have an ozark similar that has an LED battery powered or usb plug powered light that runs along the inside framing . I hate the door access though not walk in thought out you have to crouch to get in

That would be pretty annoying. It seems like some tents are just kind of thrown together. They definitely spent a lot of time engineering the framing of this one!

I'll be honest, the only inclement weather I was ever in was heavy rain and it did a great job keeping us dry! The downside is that the rain fly mainly covers the top and the windows have to be closed in order to keep the rain out so no ventilation that way. Other than that, you could hook up the guy lines for wind. Great overall tent.

HAHA! ME EITHER!!! But something else that occurred to me while editing is that most of the company’s making really nice tents are making them for the backcountry. Something that can be broken down and separated into 5 or so backpacks. There’s almost NEVER a time you would want a tent this big in the backcountry.

Haha! That's such a good question! My boys are dirty when we camp so I had to get some dirt out and I hosed it out to clean it up. Then just let it air out afterwards.
