I also remember this storm and the lightning was amazing but the sounds were the best i can ever recall from a storm i dont know whether it was the size and density of the cloud mass but the reverberating thunder claps were so deep remember the whole house shaking from some of the real close thunders bursts
It was a supercell along with various others earlier in the late afternoon, came up to chase it from Melbourne with many great lightning photos and intense rain/hail core. Several shots show a rope tornado illuminated by lightning also.
@@rthefish my parents place maybe 10 years prior to this had a tree snapped off during a wild storm and when we looked at the tree it wasnt snapped off at all it had been twisted off about 3 feet from the ground and trunk was maybe 10 inches diameter and this was no 1/4 turn twist either it looked like the tree may of been twisted around beyond one full rotation over the years i seen trees blown down completely seen snapped in half still on fire from lightning strikes but this twisted one was a first for me so always made me think about what kind of wind cycle passed through my parents property that night thing was nothing else was damaged like that tree few limbs down but no other twisted off trees
