I had heard the thumper is only a cold water technique that really works best in water over 20 feet! Ive been really tearing the Hybrids up for the past three months here in SE Texas!. Nothing beats Hybrids, not the best eating fish, but darn sure the best fighting fish!
Percy Priest can be deep as you want or as shallow as you fear in a boat. It goes from 100 ft to 3 ft instantly in some places. I prefer fishing off the bluffs around the Fate Sanders area.
You guys had a nice trip going after those Hybrids. Video was very entertaining and action packed. Thanks for sharing. I may have to book a trip with him. I booked trips with others before and a few I will not go back out again with b/c of their company.

I fish Percy a couple times per week and I know exactly where y'all were at. I fish from a little 12' V-hull so I don't usually bring a cast net, but after seeing this video I'm definitely gonna bring one out and go for these hybrids.
