My name is Lucy, I'm a Dutchwoman here to offer an alternative approach to beauty.
On this channel I do mostly hair tutorials where I show you how to braid, pin and style your own hair. I recreate hairstyles from movies, tv shows or history and I regularly come up with my own, which I love to share with you!
I really enjoy diving into history to find out how women went about their beauty and dressing rituals in days past. Vintage and history-themed videos are my little passion project.

I believe that the secret for women in history to wash their hair once or twice a month is hair covering: cotton caps would suck up oils and sweat the same way the chemise/shift would and it would also protect from dust and dirt. It's a theory i would like to try (plus it would prevent me from picking at my hair with is the source of the most problems i have and i suppose it would be more hygienic, ie less hair falling of in my house)

I think another part of it is not using silicones. I have curly hair and switched to the curly girl method, and I could easily go three weeks without washing it. And I use conditioner most days

I love this! Ive started wearing vintage widebrimmed hats and longsleeve flowy cotton blouses for sun protection and it works better than sunscreen!

Ok that’s actually a great idea. I hate when my curls flatten when I sleep and that could really prevent that from happening and having to re curl!

I tried Function of Beauty and ordered the right hair issues I wanted it to help fix and I found it did nothing to improve my hair. I noticed influencers raving about this but I even mixed up a different set of hair issues to see if I got it wrong the first time. It is totally a waste of my money and neither did it improve shine and conditioning. Instead both times it dried my hair out. I would say if you can sample it go for it but it is too much money to waste on something I believe is a hack!

They are not all natural . It has silicone in it :/ I switched to an all natural shampoo bar. Best decision I’ve made. You save so much and you feel better that it’s not from plastic

@@_HannahFlower You can get Prose without the silicone. I tried a shampoo and conditioner bar - my hair felt like straw. I was so disappointed because I was really excited about not using plastic. Oh well.

I can't be the only one that found function of beauty a complete rip off? Like, I didn't make my hair worse like some people, but it did....nothing. Nothing at all for the 40+ dollars it cost. At least I got these nice bottles to put my cheap shampoo into.
