This is a tutorial on using SetaSilk and SitaColor paints to paint fabric using the SUN. SetaSilk is more transparent than SetaColor. SetaColor is more opaque. It's fun to do. These are paints/ NOT DYES as I said in a couple of places. Sorry, I shouldn't have said that. I think using card stock would have given me better results.
This sun painting or printing technique can be used on most natural fibers, in other words, you will need your fabric to be at least 50% cotton, or wool, etc for it to work. I have not tried it on silk yet. You can make very cool tee shirts with it.
Jacquard makes a paint called Dye Na Flow that can also be used to do this. I hope you enjoy the video, it is a bit long.
All paints are shown in the video. I think they cost about $3.85 a bottle at Dharma. Be sure and check out their clothing to paint or dye while there.
