Rishi Sunak was not a child when he did that interview with the BBC proudly saying he has no "Working Class Friends" he was 21 years old and documentary was filmed un 2001.

Sunak says he supports hard work but aren't people working more hours than anytime since ww2 but can't get their own home and have to get benefits to supplement their earnings and still have to use a food bank. Hard work doesn't seem to be the problem, not paying people for their hard work is a problem.

I am 82 in a week 's time going to be 83. I came to uk without very much planing except that i need to be medical scientist which I managed to become.I feel proud feeling that I could make my mother happy ; in my journey i met and became friend with native English similar background except that my child hood very colorful not affluent very modest ; even though I cannot say i know poverty às such ; I am privileged and diligent with my parents being behind me. I did not becomd. smelly rich for which I never had any longing, in our situation without any inheritance as a startup,and wsithout dishonesty it is impossible to become rich like Rishii is. Sunak as an individual bevcame rich (excluding his in heritencs) with Hedge Funds,he managed for other. people,in that latter activities my gut feelings he committed. dishonesty or. he got lucky. But he never had any opportunities to face daring poverty.

I hope he does win his seat so he is forced to serve his constituents whilst he has no power and his wealth is taxed.

We had no bathroom and an outside loo for a few years at the beginning of my life. The weekly tin bath in front of the dining room fire. No car, no television. And rationing for the first few years of my life. But we had a great childhood. We were relatively well off. These politicians need to go off ( like Ed Balls ) and live alongside people on benefits, zero hours or even a basic wage and then tell us how our county is fairing. The Brits have an instinct for ‘fairness’ and it,s missing.

Note that the reason Sunak's family went without Sky TV was because his parents "... wanted to put everything into [his] education". In other words, they couldn't afford Sky TV because they were left so poor from paying £150,000 a year to send their 3 children to public schools. In 1993, a Sky subscription was £84 a year.

Richie Rish has never done a days work in his life, and not having Skytv as a lad doesn't count as hardship. We had a monochrome tv almost until I left home, and it was tiny. We didn't think anything of it, because ours is a loving family, it was never too cold, and there was always food on the table. We counted our blessings rather than parade our poverty.
