@@wiiu-theunderratedconsole7569 yeh. You are still able to put them in traps to make them stop moving which will help sniping the red parts. They just aren’t affected by tranq bombs
@@wiiu-theunderratedconsole7569 depends on your weapon. I recommend using wyvern rides and the three toads to lock them in place as long as you can. Furthermore try not to use too much healing if you’re bloodblighted and just try hitting them to get your health back. Now lastly you can tell WHEN a monster is about to explode because the bats are flying towards the monster like energy. If you are unsure that you can get the topple take some distance. Also be mindful that after the explosion, that there will be red energy balls surrounding the monster so be aware of that to not get hit again (happens to me a lot). Otherwise be as aggressive as you can for the red parts and especially after the topple because they will be exhausted giving you more openings
@@devilalastor3320 Thanks for these advices. I was thinking about getting the final boss Insect Glaive (It is my main weapon) and the Malzeno armor (which apparently is really good against anomaly monsters). Do you think it is a good idea?
Little tip: bloodbright can easily be countered by a consumable fish (i think it was sushi fish) that basically has the same effect as recovery up, making more space for offensive deco.
its like they combined Frenzy (the colour change, speed increase and resitance to crowd control) with Hyper Mode (several Body parts marked with a glowy orb, enhanced speed and they take extra dmg if you pop the Orbs). I LOVE it. I just fought M1 and M2 monsters in a group of 4.. cant wait to dip into this Mechanic solo tomorrow :D
The fact that it took me 17 minutes to kill a great baggi is a horrifying realisation for me... I do like these -tempered- -hyper- -apex- -apex?- afflicted monsters tho
Important update - the drop rates from carves, part breaks and such for Afflicted parts has doubled from 20% to 40%! Now it's much easier to farm for those parts. Conversely, you will often get fewer Afflicted parts from quest rewards.
Personally afflicted monsters are my favorite enhanced monster State I like them better than frenzied monsters because they have those anomaly cores also I really like the story on why the monsters become afflicted I think the concept is really cool and I like how they're like a mix between frenzied and hyper monsters as well as having new moves.
This mode feels like it was made for quicker, more adjustable weapons like bow/guns and IG, and bust area damage weapons like GL and CB. Trying to deal with this mode with GS and Hammer is very tedious
@@Kakllakl It could very well just be a difference in his build. There's plenty of ways to play sns in sunbreak and mine allows for very aggressive play with little down time. I could see someone having trouble with the explosions if they aren't playing very aggressively and consistently getting the knockdowns from popping bubbles.
Something what I found out. If you do "Random" anomaly quest, you have chance to do rank 3 or even 4 without unlocking it. I got rank 3 few times while only having unlocked 2
It is honestly a nice combination of frenzied monsters and hyper monsters at least in concept, i played 4u and generations ultimate. But that malzeno armor which gives lifesteal skill sure is neat
Its worth mentioning that you can actually join for a RANDOM afflicted monster hunt - so if you just want to do some hunting, you just click 2 buttons and there ya go :) I really missed those random hunts from World.
@@Hekk. yes, able to choose random quest was always in rise hub. world reveals party composition before joining in and no random option like rise. (correct me if i am wrong)
@@ironwiredglasses I just checked and you are correct - you can 'queue' for random low/high rank quests; I don't think it was the case in "base" rise, must've came with some patch.
Overall, it's a cool system. However, that HP bloat is just ridiculous. Triple the HP of regular MR versions is just tedious. I had a similar feeling with Hyper monsters in GU - I love the concept of Risking hits on a powered up part for the Reward of faster Art gauge buildup, but the HP bloat just makes the monster overstay its welcome. At some point, it's just boring and dull wailing on the same monster for 3x as long. Tempered monsters only increase HP values by like 15-20%.
It really helps to pop the afflicted zones. It deals massive damage faster than attacking weak points regularly. I've already seen pops of over 2k damage at once. Proper management of the zones will speed up the hunt immensely. I do recommend hunting with a group.
Great tip. Just tried this build on an anomaly monster and it made the hunt 10 times easier. Not having to stop to heal is fantastic. I just keep attacking and within a few combos, it's like I was never even injured. Thank you for the great tips and the build suggestion.
when you see a lot of red stuff hovering on the air(almost similar to zinogre thunderbug) it's an alarm for you back out, after they all absorbed by the monsters you can safely detonate them just by running toward the monsters and back out when the hunter give the warning.
I don't really enjoy having to hit all the cores . As an sns hunter who loves position hunting , it puts me in positions i don't enjoy constantly, taking damage so i can beat a damage check in time .
On paper this sounded like a good idea...until you realize that not all weapon types are suitable for striking the glowing areas, and if you don't get them quickly enough, that aoe attack almost always stuns you. Also, this forces you to attack areas that are not exactly optimal for damage. Honestly, some of the monster end up being as annoying as the Apex monsters, what a waste.
Wait this is a 4 way mix of frenzy base looks mixed with hyper monsters glow spots rise apex monster gimmicks not moves btw i think and bloodblight on top of it all Talk about a crazy combination
Loved this video's break down of anomaly quests and the recommended gear breakdown! 👍 The only current downside of fighting afflicted monsters is the health pool for some of the more boring fights (usually Arzuros) that went way over 20 minutes on a 2 player team. 😅
Honestly, if they decided to remove endemic life and monsters (like with the MR 5 Lunagaron quest) after a certain rank... I'd think that that would be a worthy challenge.
Man I wish I could play the DLC. I just been avoiding y'alls content, to not get spoiled. I genuinely hope I can get it soon, to watch all the videos I "missed"
I’m no where near this yet. I’m at MR4 and taking my time through the game since I didn’t during rise and I’m having a lot of fun doing it this way and making armor and weapons I want to use and doing follow and survey missions.
Okay so I never got the tutorial message for the afflicted monster and the cores. I knew that you could knock them out of their delirious state by attacking the glowing spots, I thought the red damage numbers that showed up when popping them was the damage towards knocking them out of that state. I had no idea they had such massive health pools (average anjanath takes about 6 minutes to kill for me personally) so I thought they had separate health pools, one for normal health and one for knocking them out of their frenzy like state. I love hunting them cause knocking them out of the frenzy Esq state is so damn satisfying to do.
You can also use the new skill ( breath ) to get rid of blood blight. It removes all status ailments with skill swap ,blood blight requires 3 swaps to remove it.
I personally love bloodblight, as it's basically bloodborne mode, but in monhun. It's just so fun, just vamping your own hp back, as you just keep bashing the monster in with aggression. Paired with malzeno's set, and I was literally healing back half my hp bar in 1 or 2 combos. However, I'd only reccomend it, if your weapon is a fast weapon. And personally on sns, it's just so fun, especially once you pop in partbreaker and destroyer oil. It's like the sns was meant for this.
Anomaly monster feel like Hypers from GU but better tbh. Also the reason they have such large health pools is because if the Core pops doing massive damage along with the hunter, so if you're good with the machanic your hunts will take around 15 to 20 minutes which seems like awhile but at least Im not complaining cause combat in this game is so much fun. I cant tell if its the weapons the monsters or both but my lord this is the most fun Ive had in awhile. Btw Afflicted Izuchi is amazing and its so fun getting to fight him without him crumpling in 5 minutes
Hyper to me was just flat out more interesting: the glowy part takes more damage, but deals more damage, you had actual risk, whereas this its just hitting a spot to counter its giant health pool, and if you dont do it in time, just wire bug away and let it explode, and try again.
@@z0h33y I hope you’re eating these words now, ya damn pessimist lol. Higher rank investigation monsters hit like trucks… trucks towing aircraft carriers…
@@z0h33y plus what’s interesting about the same exact monsters that just hit harder? Literally no difference but damage numbers and HA’s charging faster if you want to hit that specific part… No unique mechanic, no explosions (that you CAN easily get caught up in, don’t lie homie… you’re not even mentioning the circling balls of doom that proceed said explosions). Interesting…. Was an interesting choice of word…
@@derekspringer6448 Honestly, i grew so bored of Sunbreak and its "endgame", that i completely stopped caring about it, maybe in a year ill get back into it, but there was nothing about it for me, that kept me excited or hooked in. I literally started falling asleep while fighting a 5 milliion HP Rathalos.
@@z0h33y Maybe you’re just bad, I hate to say it. I am killing high rank anomaly monsters in times I’d only dream of killing the normal monster in. Anomalies reward high aggression and pressure. Maybe most importantly though, you have to *maintain* this high level of aggression. No stopping to down a potion every two seconds, no trying to figure out what move you should hit the monster with now. Just balls to the wall pressure on those Qurio, blowing up the red clusters once every couple of seconds ideally (I only play solo, can’t comment on MP hunts). It’s almost comical how locked down you can have ANY monster if you’re able to do this. I spend more time gathering some permabuffs and dicking around the map than I do killing the monster, and I’d say that about 10 or so minutes is my usual turnaround for anomalies. That’s me going at a very leisurely pace too. I know my weapons of choice very well though, and I know these monsters very well by now as well. It’s taken years of mediocrity though, to be certain. Anyway, if you don’t like it then you don’t like it. I’m sorry you feel that way, surely I’d rather you have oodles of fun playing sun break but… It won’t be for everyone. You don’t like it, you said it yourself that you’re bored and quit playing it… basically you don’t care about it anymore. So honestly, I don’t care that you don’t care about it… I’d be just as well not talking to you about it, as surely you would be too. So I gotta ask then, what are you doing here? Why have this conversation if you’re so bored and indifferent toward Sunbreak? I know why I’m here…
The difficulty spikes really big with the anomaly creatures, and it's fun, but God damn, if they bring it with Rajang or Gore Magala, that's going to be very hard to beat. "THATS ALOT OF DAMAGE"
Currently using a set of Malzeno helm, chest, waist. And Kushala arms and legs. Kushala legs also having a deco lvl 4 slot. Allowing for a def deco. Prototype immortal build currently or something.
Thanks for the video ! a list of waht type of material on wich monster would have been gold , so I made on myself ^^ not complicated in fact , 8 types of material , 4 level of quests , 2 types by level depending on monsters ^^
Bloodblight seem bugged with gunlance's full burst attack and it's very annoying, I am a gunlance main and full burst being among my highest damaging moves it nearly don't heal me. it heal me less than just a physical slap. Hope it get fix because it really ruin my enjoyment of bloodblight.
Capcom heard our complaints about challenge and endgame and said "here, fight an arzuros. It'll take you 20 fucking minutes" seriously. I spent as much time fighting this hungry bear as I did shagaru magala before I even had a maxed out weapon.
Quite possibly the worst endgame they've come up with. Ooo yay HP bloat. Ooo yay a stupid mechanic which makes your max potions do half health and you can't negate it. Ooo yay inflated chip damage. Fuck sake capcom.
I’m not very far with them I just killed the master rank Ibushi like 5-10 minutes ago but I’m scared to fight the more powerful ones especially goss harag witch has I think my guess would be around 120,000 hp witch is scary
What afflicted item do Malzeno weapons need to upgrade? I’ve done all the afflicted monsters through A4 and I still can’t see what I need to upgrade my weapon to rarity 10. Thanks in advance 😁
You can also join someone else's afflicted monster quest by choosing random if you don't have all them unlocked yet. It chooses by random and for some reason I was getting 3 star ones before I even got to 3 star ones all the from the start of unlocking these type of quest.
I just defeated the final boss (post update 1), it’s better to do the new anomaly investigations only or I need to complete also the regular anomaly quests?
afflicted 4 star mons r soooo much stronger than that dumb ol fatalis...its like nite & day.....update...dont no y game cant give players what they want...all 3 slot armour using all lvl 4 decos just like the fatalis armour n mhw...sooooo u can get that extra 50 pt defense boost using all hard res elemental decos....& still have enough to play around w/lvl 4 deco build for that armour set....im waiting for like a rarity 12 armour set from an afflicted crimson glow valstrax to do that...
The end game is bad . U kill all again all low monster ( for 3 time soo far) .no new move . No new element . It is juste bad they hit hard and have big hp ....
This is so disappointing. The mechanic: just attack the monster. The debuff: just attack the monster. The reward: nothing, if your best in slot weapon is Gaisgorom's.
What weapon has Giasmagorm weapon as BiS? and in what way does that make the reward worthless? I mean, now you obviously have an abundance of uses for the afflicted parts, but still… You don’t use ANY other weapons, ever? You don’t want to try any other builds within your chosen weapon? Man, this game must be so boring for you… I’m still kinda doubting Giasmagorm being BiS for your weapon tbh… -20% aff, and the incredibly weak amount of element, in an xpac that heavily favors it… a bit sus. If your weapon isn’t GL then I’m lost, and even then….Always possible that I’m wrong though to be fair.
Just paid 70 bucks and can't even access the new content. I beat Narwa again, I downloaded it, waited 30 minutes, and nothing. If I have to get to rank 100, I am playing something else.
I'm sorry if this comes off rude but alot of people still haven't completed the story yet and I think it would be better for this to have a later upload date.
You don't even have to get that far into the story to see your first anomaly monster so what are you whining about? Content creators are racing to put out relevant content to get views they can't release things on your schedule to be successful.
For those who like the end game pain, they're gonna reach past the story long before ya jojojiva. Casual players would have no need to click on a video like this so early after release.
How about just watch it later lol. If they upload now, people who blasted through the story can benefit, and people who aren’t there yet can watch later. If they waited to upload, people who got through story quickly would have to look elsewhere for a guide, with no real benefit for those taking it slower
