This week on Sunday Edition, Boyd Matheson welcomes Elder Matthew S. Holland, a General Authority Seventy and Executive Director of the Church Communications Department for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Elder Holland gives a unique perspective on civic charity and the principles that shaped America. In his final thoughts, Boyd stays with the principle that America is great, not by what we declare during the July 4th holiday, but by what each of us do- every day.

Love your show Boyd, it's a breath of fresh air especially after having endured the mud and muck of the recent presidential debate.

Good to know that the “modest stipend” will continue to follow the Holland family for generations to come

@@China-Clay I’ve often wondered why the top LDS leaders only receive a very modest income barely covering their full time work and sacrifices away from family. Compared to Joel Osteen worth $50 million, and Kenneth Copeland worth $750 million. But I understand Ken needs several private jets to fight against principalities and powers

KSL- you should do an investigative report on nepotism in the LDS leadership.

You should do an investigative report on how the Lord often uses the sons of prophets to be future prophets. Alma senior and alma Junior, as just one example. Oh, and Mormon and Moroni. And Samuel the Lamanite. And 3 Nephi and Lehi. And Helaman. Oh my gosh there are SO MANY! It’s like it is a… doctrinal practice! Who would have thunk that authority and foreordination runs in blood lines??? It’s like Alma 13. Sorry, I don’t mean to be rude, but this accusatory fog you are spewing is nothing more than misunderstood doctrine because of failure to ask, seek, and knock appropriately. Sadly, too many who leave don’t have the basis in scripture because they didn’t follow this sacred pattern to the fullness. Seeking is hard and takes time. Asking requires finding the right questions to ask. And knocking sometimes hurts because you have to knock more than once or twice to get someone to come open the door. Just facts of life.
