Listening to various discussions of the Sunday Ticket case has made this old teacher’s union organizer think of Paul Robson singing “Joe Hill.” The company bosses don’t have inconvenient challengers killed off anymore but the attitudes of those in power always exist. The art of the ethos is to gain as many advantages as possible in as many ways as possible. Mike: I’m deliberately not tuned into any social media entity so I didn’t really get your response to whomever said whatever about the mother of the player who did something about something. I’m just really sorry that the way people communicate these days is so second plus a zillion hand. I just couldn’t watch the last part of the show. It took me back to supervising and meditating the playground as a teacher and principal for 43 years. Something I routinely did, which often flustered annoyed children and parents was to ask “what’s another way to think about that?” I don’t know if that applies to what you were talking about at the end, but I do wonder if another way you might have processed and proceeded the flap d’jour was to have begun with the another way to think about that is… As the mother of 3 prosecutors I’ve had the privilege of watching them do variations on that theme for many years.

In the past, yes. In last few decades it was ruled that that is against the purpose of the class action and as such they can only take a reasonable compensation. They will still walk away with millions but everybody will get their fair share that is owed if this goes through

...and the companies that are hit are held accountable by folks in a situation where it would not be worth it to take on forces like the NFL that have armies of top lawyers. It's a mass tort, it's not about individual enrichment, its about forcing corporations to change policies through collective action. It'll be more than $2 however, and its the only way to enforce anti-trust if DOJ won't. They saved taxpayer dollars to enforce the law. win-win.

The plaintiffs lawyers spent an incredible amount of time and money on this case over 9 + years, and they only get paid if they win. They might not see a dollar for another 9 years. How many other professions would do that? Lawyers keep society lawful. A discussion with the plaintiffs lawyers will be a unique sports interview. They could tell us what did and did not work at trial. Mike you're the best person to interview another lawyer on the topic. I like it. JD 97

Florio, as a Chiefs fan I don't think you hate my team or quarterback. Also, I agree that questions about age are unavoidable for any NFL player, no problem there. What I do have a problem with is that you are ALWAYS the first one to bring questions like this up, thus making it an 'issue' or 'controversy'. It feels like you're reaching for content, and it got old a while ago.

Dude everyone who isn’t a chiefs fan is bothered by the chiefs 😂 y’all just need to get over it. People were bothered by the Patriots for 20 years too, the difference is the team and the fans accepted their role as the villains of the NFL. The Chiefs and their fans are still in denial, thinking they’re the fun, plucky young team from 5-6 years ago. It’s not like that anymore. They’re firmly entrenched as a dynasty now, and they have a constant media circus around them. People don’t like the chiefs. We’re all sick of the chiefs. Just accept it and be happy your team is the best in the league and will be for the foreseeable future.

It’s crazy mike , Renewals are at $489 up from $349 last year I know sunday ticket is gold but for once was hoping they would let fans have this win for cheaper. $2-300 is doable for majority of fans. $489 is greed. And isn’t cbs and fox broadcasting the other games too. What the harm of fan all over having it. I want the world to have access to my ravens and the NFl. Isnt that allow a win win for the league? Florio is the NFL hall monitor. Yet he somehow thinks he’s convincing people that he’s “one of the guys” ie football guys. We see the truth every year when they interview players and coaches in person. Simms immediately clicks with them and is effortlessly laughing and chopping it up and Florio sits on the outside getting no attention, forcing him to interrupt and shove himself into the argument in a clumsy way and the guests never want anything to do with him

$5.52 billion to the lawyers!? How many lawyers or firms is that split between? How often do firms earn that much? Also, if the NFL does drop the Sunday Ticket price before this whole matter is resolved, could that be used as an admission of wrongdoing for the lawyers of the plaintiffs? Finally, on the question towards the end: as a Seahawks fan, I do not want Dak. I don’t care what Simms says in terms of rankings, I’d take Geno over him every day, Dak’s folded in the bright lights too often. When you take into account the contract difference between the two it’s any even easier choice for me. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think Geno’s a top 10 guy, and we’re gonna need someone new fairly soon, but Dak’s not that guy. Who knows, maybe if the Cowboys got a new coach Dak would finally take that next step, but until then I wouldn’t want him as my team’s QB.

The NFL is a single business that has 32 employees. Not 32 individual companies, as the NFL will argue in court, not a single NFL team can operate or exist on its own. A single company operates on its own and can grow and thrive, an NFL team operating as a single company would have nobody to play and would fail. The NFL (is) a single company.
