@@HowardMcCain99 actually your first two serves in the first game (and all serves of the same type thereafter) were OK in terms of height of toss ... the problem was angle of toss - as the ball is tossed it can transcribe an arc through the air; at the peak of the arc the angle drawn from the ball toss start to the peak must not exceed 30° from vertical ... yours were nearer 30° from horizontal (so 60° from vertical). This is considered as "throwing" the ball at the bat. As you infer, every day is a learning opportunity. 🙂 PS: I'll be down visiting my brother (who lives in East Boldon, so only about 6 miles from St. Gabriels) for the weekend starting Friday 5th July ... in case you fancy a meet up and a game (in which case I'll bring my bat with me). 🙂
