Jakub Zytecki opened this show, then Sungazer played, then Plini. This was at the Echo Lounge & Music Hall in Dallas, TX on 5-23-23. As often happens, I go see lots of prog but don't know song names. Always feel free to chime in in replies if you know it/them! On this song, they prefaced it with commentary. :)

With all the great stuff you guys do and are capable of, why waste your time on that... sorry... crap? Mahavishnu orch was the worst disappointment of the fusion era.

Well, I cannot speak FOR the band but...I liked it ok. I'm not a huge Mahavishnu Orchestra fan but I thought ths sounded good.

@@sisterdecadence I was deep into them and the other fusion pioneers. John McLaughlin is an amazingly fast guitar player. But I literally cannot stand listening to that stuff. Haven't for years. Adam is a *far* better musician and composer than McLaughlin *ever* was!

You're entitled to your own opinion of course. I personally love Mahavishnu, I think they were pivotal in laying the groundwork for jazz fusion as a whole. It's hard to think of many musicians in this genre who wouldn't accredit Mahavishnu as a huge source of inspiration for their own work.
