In the 1990s, Sungold distributed a series of knockoff classic monster action figures aimed at the dollar store market. The set was simply called "Monster!" The same figures were distributed in Europe by the German company Simba, but were marketed under the name "Monster Vampire." These cheap but charming figures are interesting for their crude designs that mimic the 1960s Louis Marx Universal Monsters figurines, the Playmates Toxic Crusaders figures, and feature a Where's Waldo version of Freddy Krueger.
