Well here it is. I was sent this filament directly from SUNLU many months ago but I have been putting off reviewing the filament due to recent events. Those events being that SUNLU is promising free filament if you buy it off Amazon and review it, then they will refund you via PayPal. I did not agree to that so we came to the agreement of them sending me 3 filament types and I would review them so here is the first. Their PLA+ is actually good filament, especially for the price. I've used the Sunlu PLA+ and have had good luck with the blue, white, and also the gray. I would buy it again and I paid for mine.

Recently got sunlu filament. I find it works decent, slightly stringy in comparison to some other filaments but nothing that can't be tuned out mostly.

Cant get my sunlu to print past the first layer. Tried re lvling a bunch of times. Tried different temp setting for both bed and nozzle. Still cant get a single test print from it. Trying a raft next. Seems to be working so far at 210x60

I have bad experience with white filament PLA+ bught from them. Bad intralayer adhesion and problems with first layer to bed adhesion as well.

Good vid. Now a new sub! I have the Ender 3 for about a year now. Just finishing up my 1st and only roll of filament purchase so far which is an Orange Sunlu PLA+, so I am only a lite weight user. Prints great as long as I have bed leveled LOL. And I have no bases of comparison for other than this 1st roll of filament. As I said I am coming up on then end of this roll and researching my next filament -- any suggestions of stick with what works?? Cheers

Kinda sucks to hear about their marketing practices, but it worked on me, I bought a 2 pack of PLA+ from Sunlu on amazon a month ago after seeing crazy low prices (I think it was $28 for 2 kilos!) and awesome ratings... I have yet to open either roll (I has a PLA stockpile dont ask) but I'm hoping they are decent for the insanely low price.

Unfortunately, this tactic will boost their brand in the long run. It's somewhat shady however, if you don't like it, you don't give 5 stars and you pay the price of filament like the rest of us. If you liked it enough to give it 5 stars, I'm sure it earned it. Of course a few will be given from people that just wanted free filament but I think those type of people are a tiny portion of the market.

I don't review. I have bought a lot of Sunlu filaments, both regular PLA and PETG. I haven't really had any real problems with it... except that the temperature chat on the boxes are not all uniform, in regads to PETG. One box will say 230-250c, and another will say 200-220c.

Playing devil's advocate here, I think SunLu are just so proud of their filament and was a bit too eager to get people to review it. "Knowing" we would love it.

Bought a roll of white PLA plus from them, super brittle and it refuses to adhere. Glad you got some good stock, maybe it's hit or miss.

as I understand it all white pla is troublesome as it uses titanium oxide for coloring. titanium oxide is a metal so it retains heat longer.

i have a ender 3 pro. i bought sunlu + and i dont recommend the filament. its trash. it was hard to make it stick to the bed before and after cleaning the bed furnace

It may be the printer. I used quite a few different ones with that printer and I had zero luck getting them to stick. Now I have a different brand and my prints stick zero problems.

You calling them out in the beginning was more than sufficient, I got kind of irritated that you called them out again and again... kinda "beating the dead horse" if you will; Other than that I really appreciate the review. It would also be nice to have another filament as a reference for those like me that don't know what's considered really good or really bad. Thanks.

Always used SUNLU PLA plus, but now I had 3 rolls in a row, that are just crap. I had black Filament, and from one to the other roll I realized, that the Filament suddenly has a glossy surface after printing, the one before was matt. Never the less it printed fine so far, but some hours after printing, the Filament snapped, just hanging on the printer. The filament showed this behavior again and again. Same with the next spool. After a bit of abstinence, I was ordering a neon green one. Suddenly I have extrusion problems, wich I never had on my Ender 5 plus, even with the cheapest noname Filament. I am disappointed.

It's not the only bad practice, they seem to have done what many Amazon sellers do these days: Sell something good for cheap to get 5 star reviews, then after enough of them, sell sub-standard rubbish full of tangles which might even be fake, in grey box packaging. Getting sick of Amazon.

It is up to Amazon to crack down on sellers for doing shady deals. They have gotten in trouble before. Amazon can also ban people from their site if you are caught buying reviews or even selling reviews. This is why I only accept products directly sent to me because I can't lose my Amazon account.

I dont condone their behaviour but trying to get reviews of sunlu as a viewer I found hard. The US YTbers dont really review it. So I kinda get why their desperation. I use Sunlu and like it.

Dude, it's a Chinese company; they all work that way. On Aliexpress (don't use them, they'll steal your money on a lost shipment!), they always ask you to do a 5 star review and you'll 'get something'... especially if you've given a so-so review.

I would say there are a bunch that do but not all of them. Either way, there is no reason not to call out the loudest of them all which WAS Sunlu. I have not heard anything from them them in well over a year.

Good call on the advertizing strategy - although the reason they need to stop it is because they are compromising the integrity of reviewers. It may or may not be fraud according to Amazon but that's their lookout. If I get wind that a reviewer was under financial pressure to give a good review (i.e. no refund unless they post a good review) then I'm going to write that reviewer off as having no integrity. Any reviewer with any sense will refuse to do that.

I dont get your point. If you buy it via amazon and get reimbursed you are getting a product that is out there on the market. Best way for objective sampling.

Honestly, I don’t see how you are being injured by a company being very proactive about seeking reviewers. Perhaps you could just say “no thanks” and spare us the whining
