I'm having trouble figuring out the best way to crop this video while capturing the impact the scene had, without it being as long as it is now. If you have any suggestions, please let me know. 6:23 - When Kim says the line.
It is an amazing artistic choice in this game that the greatest benefit of earning Kim's trust is that it enables YOU to save HIM. Instead of focusing on what you get in return for earning his trust, it shows how we're better able to help a friend in need when we have that trust.
'Kim trusts you' is like being the guy Kim will call if he's got trouble. 'Kim REALLY trusts you' is being the guy Kim can't call when there's trouble, because you're already there next to him, mixed in with whatever it is.
The amazing thing is that Kim's portrait has foretold this moment the whole time: The red marks on his face are not simple artistic choice, they are bruises from the incident. The white circle behind his head? The "halo" from the ceiling fan light.
VOLITION [Impossible: Failure] - I can't help you resist. ELECTROCHEMISTRY [Medium: Success] - DO IT! What's the worse that can happen? You'll get even COOLER than you already are.
A beautiful moment to cap off the absolute lifetime of tension Tequila Sunset lived in that handful of seconds. Not to mention one of the finest sequences an RPG has ever depicted. Every roll of the dice was heartstopping. Thank you for this.
I love the fact that the dialogue when saving Kim changes if you have your gun equipped or not. When the gun's on your hand, you scream "NO", and pass your gun to Kim. But if you only had the spirit bomb equipped, you instead only warn him about the danger behind him, making him fire his own weapon.
True, although Kim using his own gun doesn't make that much sense if you think about it. It's supposedly a single-shot pistol and he used his round on Hoenkloewen, and I don't think he had time to reload.
@kentknightofcaelin4537 one of your voices 'reassures' you that "you always kept two barrels loaded" when evrart says you lost your gun, so i assume RCM guns have multiple barrels for multiple shots.
@@Jman0163Kim's gun, called a Kiejl A9/90 Armistice, is a single shot weapon as told by its item description: "A classic 9mm single-shot muzzleloader off the assembly lines of Kiejl Arms". The RCM, as well as other police forces in Elysium, use muzzleloaders that can't have multiple shots without multiple barrels (see Harry's pepperbox gun). These gun types also justify the tribunal being turn-based.
When I got to this part my heart was actually racing, I was praying that I wouldn't fail any of the checks, especially the authority check to shout at Kim The entire sequence was so tense and when I woke up I honestly just needed a few minutes to myself to process what happened and express my absolute love for Kim
I was unlucky, even with it being rather high chance to succeed, I still failed, and I just dropped for a moment, I legit thought Kim was dead, I was thankfully to hear he wasn't but still NGL, that entire moment for me was really unlucky, I failed to shoot the Armoured guy TWICE (one was 58%, other 24% I think)
I'm really glad you've been doing the same! I was shocked when I saw there weren't a lot of clips of the game like this, so I'm happy to see your clips as well.
Thanks for the upload! Could you do a video with all the outcomes from talking to the smoker on the balcony? The part where you have the option to ask Kim why his shirt is unbuttoned. It would be really awesome if you could!
@@sunriseparabellum2417 thanks! It would be greatly appreciated! When I had this scene I thought I would be able to pick every option; to tell him what I thought about the smoking man, but alas, I picked the top one only to have the encounter end 😞
Holy fucking shit I just realized Kim's portrait represents the first thing you see after waking up on the final day. "The fan above his head like a halo. His face is covered in bruises."
Since there hasn't been a follow up video, I'm under the assumption you're still curious. The fact is, it doesn't change much. Lilienne doesn't actually mind, since Kim acts as a social lubricant to make sure nothing weird happens. He just stands off to the side when you two are chatting on the coast.
