Growing up, Sunspot was the coolest black character we had power wise. His origin involved a dude saying something like 'you may be rich but you're still black!' before beating him up. His powers activated in that moment and made him even darker. That was cool as shit as a black kid comic nerd. I hadn't seen such a powerful statement like that in comics ever. Then they lightened him up and forgot all about it lol. Make him dark again, please.
@splash8617-ls6kq so “Brazilian” is a lot like “American”. It’s not an ethnicity. There are Native Brazilians and Native Americans sure, but most of the population comes from somewhere else. Roberto’s half black. His moms side of the family came from Portugal and his dads side came from Africa.

I think the show does a good job drawing him that way, but in the comics he’s gotten progressively lighter over the decades as he grew up and they sexualized him more. Also the live action movies cast two completely white actors to play him. Luckily they fixed Sunspots skin tone (making him darker again) in recent comics and I think he looks half and half in the cartoon
@splash8617-ls6kq it matters because there are tons of white superheroes while Sunspot is the only mixed-race superhero I can think of (if you can think of another let me know). It’s weird to take that representation away from mixed kids by casting.a white actor twice. Also, let’s not pretend like black Johnny Storm wasn’t a weird and unnecessary choice

All I’m saying is that mixed kids need representation (I literally can’t think of another mixed hero) and it’s weird for Marvel to have casted two fully white actors to play the character in live action and sometimes draw him so he looks white. All kids deserve to be able to see a badass character that looks like them. And while fully black kids get Storm and T’Challa and Falcon and a bunch of others and fully white kids get literal hundreds of awesome role models, Sunspot is one of the only cool characters light brown kids can relate to. It was stupid to take that away

Someone called Sunspot black and you had to jump in and say he wasn’t (cuz you actually thought “Brazilian” was a race 😂). Then when I explained he was mixed you got really defensive for no reason. If I were you I’d try to self-reflect and see why you care so much. If color doesn’t matter to you then let it go.
You do a great job in the show. Roberto comes off as a spoiled rich kid but he still manages to be likeable and that’s hard to pull off. Were you a fan of the original show?

The character "Eclipse" from "The Gifted" is basically an alternate version of Sunspot. No idea why the show decided to create a new character based on Sunspot instead of just using Sunspot. He's Polaris' baby daddy on the show! They even cast a Latino actor to portray him. He converts photons into energy. When shot by a bullet, the character literally leaks light out of his body!

Vanisher pops up at the wildest times and the weirdest places. When Sunspot/ Reignfire storyline came out back when it was the coolest! RF was powerful!
He surprisingly isn't. From his time in the Avengers to now in X-Men Red, he's actually been used a lot. Mf is used even more than some of the most popular Xmen characters. Such as Omega Red, Mr Sinister, Juggernaut, Blob, Domino, Phoenix, and even Apocalypse
Of course. He was stated to have the potential to grow stronger, and he has. Writers often forget this but as a kid he was stated to be able to stagger Hulk and pulverise buildings, yet even after growing much stronger, he's written to be somehow weaker. He should 100% be able to lift hundreds of tons given his history and power
I remember a comic where Sunspot had a rivalry with Sam over a girl named Gomazar she was white all over her body, hair & she liked that she had two guys fighting over her this was in the X-Factor comics I think. Gomazar actually rubbed it in her teammates faces that they were fighting over her I remember her saying in the comics "See how they fight over me? It proves my value." Warlock said creatures like Comazar were very rare but one teammate wasn't happy with her because Gomazar used her powers on her so this teammate I forgot her name she was the black haired mutant shown in 9:30 of this video socked Gomazar hard. But that was my first introduction to Sunspot I didn't realize he played a bigger role with the mutants until this video.
I really really like Sunspot a lot! He’s actually one of my favorite newer X-men characters. He’s my favorite New Mutant character. But what I hate is why in live action they always make Sunspot Mexican when he’s not at all! Sunspot is literally half Black and Half White but for some reason they never make him that. His dad is Afro-Latino(a Black Man from Brazil) while his mom is White. But he’s never portrayed correctly in live action. But he’s usually done pretty well as far as his actual ethnicity goes in th Comics and sometimes tv shows. A lot of people may say “well why does it matter?” Well, it matters to me because all characters should be represented correctly and not by what’s easier for you to do. I bet majority of people who know about Sunspot probably thinks that he’s supposed to be Mexican because of every single one of his live action appearances he’s been a Mexican dude. I just wish they’d give my dude some proper representation in the movies like he should be. It’s bad enough most people don’t even know who he is but then when someone actually starts to know about him from the movies he’s not even the correct ethnicity he’s supposed to be 🤦🏾♂️ lol. *#ANDJUSTICEFORSUNSPOT**!!!*
He's either been White Spanish or Portuguese in the films. Is it really so hard to find someone with African in the gene pool? Even the comics have been accused of White washing him

@@munizbros999 Always have been a few, you see one in the Captain America first film, the robot in the case at the fair, that’s the first Human Torch and he had a partner named Toro who could also ignite on fire. Johnny Storm is another Human Torch
@@thanosal-titan sorry, but I think you are wrong on that. Sunspot doesn’t have a power with an undefinable limit. He doesn’t generate heat more the Firestar or Sunfire and he isn’t stronger than Colossus or Gentile. Sunspot is not an Omega level mutant. He has had a power boost, but not Omega.
How is Sunspot an Omega level? This is not what Omega means... being Omega level mutant means being potentially limitless, the power of a sun isn't limitless..
I love Sunspot to death, but he is not omega. He isn't even classified, but given his powers and their strength, he's most likely alpha level. But saying he's omega is just plain wrong ☠☠
We should agree that "Omega" was tossed out as a throw-away line by Nimrod while hunting for Rachel Summers in, like, X-Men #193 or something. Later writers keyed on it and made it a thing, and it's stupid. Being a mutant isn't like having so many midichlorians or something. There's no metric that a sentinal, etc., can use to be like "Oh, she's almost Omega, but not quite" or whatever. It was a plot device to let us know that Nimrod was focusing on Rachel over others and that's it. Later writers, being lazy fanboys who grew up with video games where "levels" and metrics were a thing, decided to play this out in the dumbest ways possible. I quit reading new comics in the early 90s and don't regret it so I don't have to deal with this sort of thing.

Omega Level Mutants are mutants whose dominant power is deemed to register, or reach, an undefinable upper limit of that power's specific classification. For example, both Magneto and Forge are the most powerful mutants of their power types on the planet Earth (Magnetism and Technopathy, respectively), but what makes Magneto, and not Forge, an Omega level mutant is that the upper limit of Forge's measurable powers could hypothetically be surpassed (and in, fact, has by multiple humans on the planet), while the upper limit of Magneto's power cannot be surpassed in any measurable fashion. Omega level is a classification of a single mutant power. While it is quite common that mutants manifest multiple powers, only one is normally of Omega level. For example, while Jean Grey is both a telepath and a telekinetic, she is only an Omega level telepath. Jean Grey has been retconned to be an Omega Telepath only. There are only 2 omega telepaths: Jean Grey and Kid Omega
Sunspot is a cold character. I like him better than the Human Torch.. BTW, when they make a new X-Men movie they should somehow implement Nimrod in their and put it in a plot where he faces the X-Men.. that would be cold
Great character but his anything but underrated. And I know they can cover all the info about characters but some of the info isn't spot on. Like Gideon, he is an immortal and part of a subspecies of immortal mutants called Externals. Gideon believed Sunspot was the newest and last External to b born, he killed Sunspots father and took him in and taught him. Cable knew Sunspot wasn't the next External and let Sunspot leave the New Mutants. Once Gideon learned Sunspot wasn't the next External he beat the hell out of him and experimented on him. Gideon was involved with Reignfire, but the doctor tried to keep it a secret so I'm not sure how much Gideon knew? Either way he was no longer around when Selene, a fellow External, used Sunspot and X-Force to get her hands on Damocles Foundation projects. And it was Reignfire who told Sunspot of Gideon's experiments not Selene.
The way they killed both sunspot and iceman in DoFP, is actually kinda stupid. If copying one of their powers to kill the other, it wouldn’t give them that same benefit when using the other’s powers. They can’t BOTH be immune to the others powers.
Iceman is supposed to be immune to fire, his ice is farrr stronger than any fire (even hellfire) so im not surprised it took out sunspot but sunspot's fire killing iceman is just wrong
