I really needed to see how to apply the clamps

A far more effective and easier method is to first clean the whole area with solvent then rough the area then just run a couple of coat of the 66 glue over the seams. Let that dry then cut a larger pvc patch and then glue that over that whole 4x4 area. Weight it down over night and wala sealed. Wouldn't even notice the patch. I do this stuff all the time.

Is it still holding air?

Do you have a pic of the clamp set up?

Can you use acetone or isopropyl alchohol?
