It wouldn’t work. Mutants are supposed to have been here for thousands of years and have a history that would contradict the MCU. The only way to introduce them is just like they’ll do the Fantastic Four. Another dimension in the Multiverse.

Sickle cell anaemia is predominantly found in the black community, more-so those of African descent. Other ethic minorities and white people can also be affected but it’s far less common.

Andre and his son, AJ, say it but it's easy to overlook early when no one is making the connection between each person being a child to a parent or parents with sickle cell and them having powers. AJ called it something like "the black disease", referencing what Andre's father died from and Andre lets him know it's not solely black people but yes, an overwhelming majority.
