I haven’t met a Bodom fan that thinks that song is underrated. my personal favorite off Something Wild is The Nail, I feel that’s way more underrated then Kissing The Shadows.

Draw a triangle between power metal, thrash metal, and melodic death metal. Children of bodom pins dead center. Such a unique band and alexi is a true legend. His music will live with us forever.

Funny you talk about genre. With Bodom, for the longest time no one could agree which genre to put them in, because the sound they had was so different from anything else out there. Personally, I think that shows how good a band is. I love bands that have a fresh new sound that's hard to put in one category.

COB is unique. I don't think there's any other band in the world with a similar uniqueness to their sound. I grew up with COB's songs in my teen hood. Had COB Tshirts ans hoodies. But sadly i gave them away when i kind of stopped listening to metal in general. I'm 25 now. And i'm back listening metal once again. And i regret giving away my COB clothes. So i went online and ordered an awesome COB Tshirt. Cause afterall they were and always will be my favorite band. So many highschool memories flood my mind when i hear a COB song. Good times. Oh and fuck life and this reality for taking Alexi. Hope he's in a better place than this hellhole called Earth.

I've searched for many years hoping I would find another band that can compare to CoBs style...there's one. Kalmah, they don't have that thing where every single song on the album is a masterpiece, but their best songs can be put in a playlist with CoBs best and they fit right in. Their first two albums feel like Hatebreeder, the third like Follow the Reaper...and it's not a secret that they've been heavily influenced by CoB. Norther is another band that is put in that category often, but they rather feel like discount CoB wheras Kalmah made their own style from the influence

COB is behind an amazing skill of pure musical talent, derived from metal, punk, and classical music. cannot put into a specific genre. pioneers and absolutely unique.

You should check out the music video of Bodom After Midnight, the last one Alexi recorded, shortly before he died. I'd call it melodic death metal btw

My favourite song and album by the band. They were so good in the earlier days. Not bad later though. The video was copied from swedish tv show ZTV. So I guess it was cut at the broadcast. Alexi RIP!

Song from 2003. In that time i think it's not so usual wave the song like that. Maybe it is my fanglasses of maybe it is not. But big part of genre that was for sure.

Alexi was big influence to so many ppl...to me too to learn new shit with guitar. It was new and fresh in times like limp bizkit and korn what is travesty of music. Suddenly being good player was on charts again. He had unique style too...dirty sounds i'd describe it and not giving that much of a fuck if he missed a note. Music with feeling is more important. That was Alexi to me.
