What the hell that was one nice game, thought he was 100% dead when knights came out and Hera wasn‘t even on the way to castle - time and time again he proves me wrong lol
Lol i used to play AOE in my childhood days. Literally grew up with it, so nostalgic. Seeing this guys play the game I must say I was a beginner compared to him
Hey Hera how do you move your camera so fast? I noticed at the beginning of the game you quickly jump to the exploring goats, but you don't click on the minimap nor you have the goats assigned to groups?
I'm kinda new to age and I don't get it. How could you possibly know that you have a chance just because he built a TC. What about the TC in that situation was a bad move? Is it cause he will have to spend food on villagers vs military? Should he have saved stone and gone for a castle?
Building a TC is a heavy investment, he have to invest at least 3 vils for a long amount of time to build it, which reduce his eco growth, not to mention the wood cost that can go into military building, or military itself and the stone he could’ve used for tower or a defensive castle to hold until he boom Not to mention he kinda have to make more vils one he have a TC up else its wasted
He not only built a tc, to do so he had to divert a villager to stone and build a mining camp, which was an additional 100 wood on top of everything, tcs will pay for themselves, but it takes a couple of minutes of game time before they break even
Why would adding the towncenter(s) be risky? A simple thing was said a few weeks ago in a game v The Viper: Hera said it was a bit greedy. I would think the added protection and ability to improve the economy would be a good thing. Thanks for any insights.
Honest question: why dont pros bottleneck wall when opponents are likely to go scouts, and produce 3-4 spears, save food/wood and advance to castle instead of making half assed walls and spending 800 food and 350-525 wood on stables. It just feels like stone walling into small bottlenecks and making a few spears/skirms saves a tonn of res.
If u dont make army the opponent comes fwd with towers. Ur small walls do nothing then. Also his scouts get control of the map. I agree walls usually counter scouts butu usuallyshould full wall which takes time

I have a hunch though, that there is a big leap in efficiency (1-200 res savings) possible somewhere here which could allow for immediate eco upgrades in castle more regularly. Though my own micro isnt sufficient for it. Also is there any merit in dropping spaced out stone/ fortified walls on strategic positions to delay enemy castle drops? Or even just having them near one's weak eco to prevent devastating castle drops. It seems to my 1400 mind that a 100 stone late feudal investment in spaced out stone walls on strategically relevant hills can buy a lot of time and sort of preserve some prime real estate for one's own castles.
@@taowroland8697 the thing is, your opponent might not even be going for a castle, and then your time and resources are wasted. Also you won't be able to drop 2 TCs in Castle Age without going to stone, which will delay your other eco.
@@taowroland8697 if i see a ton of vills on stone i go forward with one vil and place random stone walls or palisades in front of my walls to take up space in the most annoying way possible so he can't drop the castle anywhere near me lol, it gives me enough time to make some military to kill the vills when they come forward
@@taowroland8697 Definitely a smart idea dude. Plus if your opponent were to building scan, he might assume you already have a castle or military production there.
To all Newbs, watch video on 1/4 speed and master this... reason being.. no houses are needed, so you can focus on other things, which is very important when being a newb. YOU CAN MASTER HOUSES LATER. also so dont try mastering scoutin till you can eco like a god TBH :) happy huntings
Whats the point on killing sheep’s one by one? Is there any real gain against sending all them to TC at once? I believe micromanaging animals it is an unnecessary waste of time and a way boring startup.
Because food decays on dead animals, and killing all sheep at once will cause all of them to decay at the same time, lowering your food gain. It's good idea to invest your vills to harvest sheep one by one, so they can very quickly gather food and minimalize the decay.
Cezary Jaszewski I know that but how much is really lost? If you fit all the animals under the TC, you would not expect each villager to take care of a single sheep but at the most be split into two groups. This is done automatically by the AI, you can save the micromanaging for other tasks. Every single player in the planet do the same startup and frankly is dead boring.
Joschmoe11 I knew I was right. Micro managing sheep consumes more time vs. the benefit that is obtained, not to mention the risk of uncoordination. Arrange all your sheep under the TC, create a consumption sequence and go do more important things. Thx for the vid.
@@blackisblack22 If you don't care about max efficiency then you don't have to worry about such small things but it does make a difference. max efficiency can be boring to some people i guess. after a month of playing it's pretty easy to micro sheep and not screw up the rest of your build order if you practice enough
