That event at Pontiac sure looks like a lot of fun and is very similar to the GREAT OREGON STEAM UP in Brooks, Oregon (9 miles north of Salem). Super cool~! Last weekend of July and first weekend of August every year.

As cool as those mowers are that firebird is what I'd want out of all of that. I've never heard of these mowers but its a very cool history from a different part of the country. Just goes to show every state has more unique history than we know

What a HOOT! I guess I'm a member of the Roof walkers. I've got a 28 inch walk behind with a Briggs 'L' head 8 horse I/C with a Snapper type drive and bicycle type steel wheels. Those were used here a lot in tree farms with the front part of the blade guard removed so they'd cut tall stuff.One 3 wheel walker and several like mine. One tree farmer had over 30 at one time. And the open deck jobs weren't nearly as dangerous as they looked according to the guys that ran them. Mine still cuts like a carpet. Good machines.

The push mower seen around the 13:00 mark looks like one my parents had when I was a kid. Had a 5HP engine on it. It was used but it worked. Eventually, we got something lighter that was easier to handle, so I parked the Roof and eventually sold it.
