Why Is The Tractor Supply Mini Jeep So Popular? They are selling out EVERYWHERE! We have been sent a Mini 125 Jeep and it may be one of the craziest and most fun thing to ride on our property. The Mini 125 is a 125cc 3 speed Jeep style vehicle sold through Massimo's website as well as retailers like Tractor Supply, Company. The MIni Jeep comes in many colors like red, green, blue, sand, etc. With a spare tire and gas can, the look of the mini 125 is authentic and aggressive. We have had a great experience evaluating the mini 125 and have had kids and adults each spend time behind the wheel. The gasoline engine in the mini jeep is started easily with electronic ignition and a choke. Service is very simple and oil changes and maintenance seem like they would be very simple as well. The Jeep comes with military looks and is built tough! With many retailers like Tractor Supply selling thousands of them and high quality scores it is no wonder why mini jeeps are so popular!

My folks had something a bit similar to this when i was a kid. It had four tires and a steering wheel but only sat one person. It had an air-cooled Briggs & Stratton around 8 horsepower. They would let me drive it around the yard for an hour or so once a week, unless it was winter. It had some belt driven contraption bolted to the underside. It was kinda fun. When I was done riding it the grass would be shorter.

I am 41 I had a FL350R Honda Odyssey when I was about 10, in 92-93ish... it was used, they came out in the 80s. They had stuff like this when we were kids... it's just 1980s adults going into debt for a toy wasn't popular. It was a feel good moment when my parents allowed me to buy a $4 action figure at the store. I didn't get toys unless I did something positive in school(passed) or it was a holiday. That said my grandfather bought mine for me at the time he was retired coal miner, my dad would have never been able to afford to pay cash for something like this or the odyssey.

@Chris-Rife I remember the odyssey! And the Banshee. Both were way ahead of their time. And I hear ya. We came up without having this kind of stuff. Friends did which was cool. May be why I love gear so much now. Blessed to be able to test and tinker with different machines.

A friend of mine used to build and sell 3/4 scale choppers with up to a 250cc engine. They were a blast to ride around on. Not that Tampa is a safe place to ride any motorcycle these days Those jeeps look fun and, hopefully, more affordable than an actual jeep

We had an old gas tractor. My dad took the seat out of back of an International Scout and welded it on the tractor facing backwards behind the tractor drivers seat. That was our "ATV" back then. For us kids it was our pipe trailer tractor, bail trailer tractor, go check the sprinkler lines tractor, get around the farm tractor. We had a couple spots where the path crossed a small stream. Used to take visitor kids out then stop in the middle and dump the clutch to buck them into the creek. Every once in awhile my dad would catch me or my brother out somewhere making the tractor do wheelies. They weren't anything to write home about but it would pull the front end off the ground.

We have one on our farm for our kids. They love it and have learned great vehicle handling skills. I recommend frequently check hardware these regularly and using lock tight as they have issues with hardware coming off. Also they come way over inflated so getting the tire psi down to single digits helps the ride tremendously. Ours was so loud when we got it, then I noticed the chain tensioner was rubbing the chain on the frame by creating too much tension. It has two springs, so I removed one siring and problem solved. So I would definitely check that out. It’s been great other than that stuff. My 3 kids rip around and I have used it to drive my 4 year old on trails while her older brothers were riding their dirt bikes. My wife and I fit on it fine too for cruising into town.

I could see me son having fun in it when he turns like 10+. Rather get this over those plastic battery ones for $200-$600. But if you’re just doing light gardening work about your house, this is a good option over spending $11k on a Kubota or similar. Big differences there, but also $9k between them.

So I thought I'd go find a pic for you because I'm pretty sure Zippy's dad didn't make the thing and I found this much more like yours thing from 1960. The bully's jeep was apparently a Roof Palamino lawn mower jeep without the cutting attachment. RU-vid has a video of a bunch of them titled "Super AMAZING Mini Jeep Show!" Reminds me of the old Doodlebug tractors that were homemade out of old model T's. The last one I had was made out of a 1928 Ford Model AA truck. Cut the frame down to size, a wooden seat, and a little wooden truck bed in the back to haul hay or whatever. These were made during the depression and especially during WW2 when a farmer couldn't buy a tractor. However, my Doodlebug wasn't really a tractor but more like a 1928 UTV side by side.

That's the second Doodlebug reference I have heard! I would love to see a picture of one of those. Those that lived during that generation were the best generation. It's amazing to things the WW2 generation had to live with. Thank you for sharing and watching!

@@JoeTheFarmer -- There's lots of Doodlebug tractor videos on RU-vid. They range in different sizes and configurations based upon the builders needs. I've ran across many original old ones over the years and no two are alike. Usually they are well built by the farmer. They really knew their stuff!! I've seen them with tractor tires, truck tires, dual transmissions, winches, truck beds, hydraulics, etc. Lots of fun!!

@@JoeTheFarmer -- I forgot to mention that during the depression Sears came out with a kit to convert a Model T into a Doodlebug tractor. They're a rare find today, I think because a farmer or rancher simply built their own out of the old Model T sitting out in the field behind the barn, LOL. Also, there are Doodlebug clubs in the Midwest, at least there used to be. I've thought about building another one sometime in the near future.

He's autistic he loves trucks, mostly Jeeps, four wheelers, anything with wheels. And he used to have a small quad when he was little, but he outgrew it he also used to love riding around the yard with me when I cut the grass, and road with me on the lawnmower since he was a baby. But a few years ago he outgrew that too. I have a Polaris general that I used to plow snow, but he doesn't care for that too much because it's so loud. he keeps asking to ride on the lawnmower with me, but he can't because he's too big, so I think this will be the perfect way to take him for a little rides around the yard in something that he loves which is jeeps. It's small enough to fit in the garage or the shed, but big enough that I can drive him around in it. it should be perfect this summer!

They are fun, but they are junk. The spare and jerry can weight started breaking the back of ours off, among other issues. 6 months in the gear indicator quit, the first week the steering separated at speed. If you buy one you have to tear them all apart and locktite everything. For me it isn't a big deal as I can fix it all, but for the folks that aren't I can see it being a nightmare.

@@JoeTheFarmer We still do use it, but not a ton. My kids don't have much interest in it sadly. Ours was Icebear branded. We got it in 2018. I bought it from a local motorsports dealer because they claimed to go through them and do all the prep to make them better. When I hauled it back to show the dealer after it rolled when the steering separated 5 days after Christmas when my kids got it they said "It's Chinese, good luck" and "we said stuff loosens" I fully understand equipment, and rattles etc, but the steering should not have completely separated after maybe 1.5 hours of riding. I have a Streaker go-kart that was my original one in the 90's, and it has 1000+ hours on it and never had the stuff loosen up like this one. Everyone tells me to blame the dealer, or I should have assembled it myself. My experience has been that none of the bolts at all were properly tightened, or locktited to the point it was dangerous. I eventually tore it down and checked everything.

Massimo has an assembly facility in TX and they have it dialed in man. Do a great job with prep. But still, always keep an eye on bolts loosening. Appreciate you sharing your experience brother!!!

“Why didn’t we have such a thing when I was a kid”? We did, it was a CJ7. I miss mine today.

I had an 83 CJ7 Golden Eagle. Biggest pile of junk and I miss it often.

@@JoeTheFarmer I had an 85 that I drove it right off the showroom floor. I got home and my wife took one look at it, her face fell and she said, “why did you buy that thing”? 3 days later she took it shopping and came back home smiling. “That is so much fun to drive”.

I love this story... Proof that sometimes a purchase is to do nothing more than bring you joy.
