2:22 actually, there's some physics behind that. You know how backspin on a baseball is used to make the ball go further and straighter when thrown? That's called the magnus effect, where the spinning generates atmospheric lift. Bonk's head is so massive compared to his body, that by spining midair he generates lift.

Are we sure the bad guy hasn't actually pulled off an Aku plan and "sent that foolish caveman to the distant future, where his evil is law"?

I just wish that Bonk: Brink of Extinction wasn't cancelled. RIP Hudson.

Dear Jared, I am sure you are aware of this, but there is actually a sequel to Super Bonk, called super bonk 2, that was japan release only. The game is slightly harder AND there are more transformations! Please check it out and review it in the future!

I like Jared just assumed Bonk went back in time and I agreed with him no questions asked until I watched this a second time

I think he sent Bonk to the future so he could take over the world where Bonk arrives long after the world has been taken over. Hence why the dinosaurs are living like people. Blowing up the asteroid sends Bonk back in time so he can fix everything! There! Now that we have explained that everything in this game makes sense!

"Oh, Pluto. These were truly better days for you." He says the same year we get our first clear picture of Pluto.

I think in a way it actually makes some sense that Bonk turns unto a crab after going into warp speed. Think about it, when Bonk gets crushed he turns into a crab, so going into warp speed must've applied enough g-force on Bonk to produce the same effect as though he was crushed.

This was AMAZING-- I laughed a lot, but the very genuine feeling-share at the end really hit home. Sometimes it really is nice to just enjoy something simple (and maybe a bit wacky) instead of furiously searching for or impatiently waiting for that game that completely changes everything. I really, REALLY enjoyed this review.

I'm a bit amazed that you find stuff like this in a video game "weird". Meanwhile, in Mario, you are an Italian plumber whom lives in a kingdom full of mushroom people. You jump on sentient mushrooms, turtles, bullets and the sun itself; you eat mushrooms to grow big, flowers that give you the ability to shoot fire, stars that make you invulnerable, etc. You also ride around on a green dinosaur that only says it's name when communicating, and you try to save a princess from a giant lizard in a clowncopter. Yeah, that's TOTALLY not weird...

I love the boss level called Blue Balls. And Jared's face seeing it just makes it more funny.

I've been aware of Jared for a while now but never really checked his channel out until now. The next couple of days are going to be good.

I honestly wonder what a cartoon series based off of this game would be like if Bonk ever gained popularity.

1:53 Thanks to your newest video about chrono trigger and the fact I've been playing that game non stop since I watched it, I finally noticed and gained the ability to appreciate that reference.

Super Bonk looks like the kinda wacky shit my friends and I would come up with while just talking and joking around, i love it.

The story of Bonk is great! It makes me want to write my own about a world like in Xenogears, where technomages wield fragmented bits and pieces of formerly extremely powerful technology, and one of them goes evil and sends a good guy into the distant past to an extremely advanced society that was totally wiped out and practically erased from history. He tries to change the future by saving the past while coming to grips with the fact he'll never see his wife and children again.

Is it possible that, instead of sending Bonk back in time, Drool send Bonk FURTHER in time?

Jared you should play The Legendary Starfy!! It’s a chill, laidback game where the objective is just to have a fun ride as well! (Not as trippy as Bonk though, but still kinda trippy nonetheless).

Wow, this is amazing! I used to play this game when I was super young. It was part of one of those "200 games in one" cds that you could find in the markets. This is a massive nostalgia hit. Anyway, I've been trying to find at least one of these games to link me back to that particular cd, but for so long I couldn't and it really bothered me. Now at last I have a link! going inside dinosaurs (and fighting a devil inside) is a pretty common Hudson Soft theme. See Joe and Mac 1 and 2, and Congo's Caper.

I remember awhile back I was looking for a caveman game, kept coming across this, though the one I think I was trying to remember was Prehistorik man or whatever, I just remember a section you had a hang glider and the goal of the game was collecting food

Bonk 4 Smash Bros!

My Dad and I borrowed a cousin's TurboGrafx16 and Bonk's Adventure when I was like 4, and over the next several months he and I mastered the game. When it came out for the Wii Virtual Console, I bought it and mastered it again. Honestly, Bonk is pretty cool.

Bonk is weird. But that's what makes it so good.

My first experience with the Bonk character was with Saturn Bomberman! Didn't know he was a proper character in his own right til I found Super Bonk on the Super Nintendo as one of the games on the inflight entertainment system on my first plane home from Florida! I bought my own copy of the game 10 years later!
