I put this game on before every season...and whenever the hell I want! The one thing I've wanted to see since that rigged SB for 2005, was for the Hawks to beat some one up so thoroughly that the refs (HA!) couldn't influence the outcome! So proud of those guys!
As a lifelong, raised since 76 Seahawks fan, this was the happiest day I ever had! That team was special. Hopefully we get some action this year! Go Hawks!
@@russellcharles7839 : Lol, got ya beat Russ, I was a Hawks fan the day (back in '74) I heard we were being given a Franchise! Mad respect though! GO HAWKS!
Why I respect Peyton so much, going up to basically every Seahawk shaking their hand and congratulating them because he knows that it’s a game and not personal
Most dominant defense in the history of the NFL. Talk all you want about the 85 Bears or the 2000 Ravens, but in this era of football where almost every single rule favors the offense, this defense completely shut down the best statistical offense in the history of the league led by one of the best Quarterbacks ever. It does not get better than this. LOB!!
The guy made some of the biggest plays in that period of success. Chop-Chop was way underrated. Week 1 in Carolina, Atlanta, NFCC free play, Carolina in 14 playoffs and of course the the 14 NFCC. Thing was, Chop-Chop was a big reason why RW had 4 INTs in that game but it was sweet he made up for it.
Idk if I’d go so far as to say one of the greatest plays of all time, but he was SO underrated when he played for us. People kept doubting him but time and again he’d make an unbelievable play
It wasn't even his fault to be honest. When you get dominated to this degree, it sort of sets in that "We had no shot. It is what is. They were definitely better." For him to take the fall was such an example of sportsmanship.
@@ChiefBlue4298 I mean they basically had 19 points counted against them that wasn't their fault ..a safety, Subsequent short field due to a punt instead of a kick off where giving up a few first downs put you in field goal range, Pick 6, and a kick off return. I wanted the Broncos to lose this game but I watched it live and the Broncos defense actually played very very well. I am a Cowboys fan but I like Tom Brady and Belichick and never really cared for Manning, so I wanted the Broncos to lose, but given their defensive injuries they actually played well until they gave up (due to their offense not doing jack shit).
Donny Darkoh agree if we had a healthy Chris Harris, Derek Wolfe and Von Miller maybe our defense could have gotten more pressure created a couple turnovers to keep the game a little closer maybe our offense would have woken up and done more.
I watched this at 5AM at an Irish bar in Jakarta, Indonesia. Was just me and one Broncos fan. He left at halftime lol. One of my all time favorite memories.
I'm from Seattle and have gone to Seahawk's games since the late 80's when they were still in the Kingdome. This game was worth all the years of losing records. That being said, I've never seen someone lose this bad and have that much class. It is almost as if Peyton is a champion whether he wins or losses.
Beast Mode: "My action is done..." Pete Carroll: "You want to score another touchdown don't you?" Beast Mode: "HELL NAW! I just wanna go get my ring!" Fucking GOAT
My dad and I started listening to Seahawks games on the radio. He would bring me along on service calls and we would listen to Pete Gross call the games. He got lung cancer that spread to his brain in the summer of 2013. The last thing we ever did together was watch the Seahawks win the Super Bowl. He passed the day of the parade. Watching these highlights were bitter sweet
The fact broncos had statiscally the best offense of all time. And they were held to 8 points in the superbowl with having a top 3 QB of all time....wild how good that seahawk defense really was....I forget which hawk defensive player said it bit he said after Wednesdays film study he knew it was over before it started..
See how Lynch just walks in on the 1 yard line, yep should have did that again a year later. This was the most fun I had watching the Seahawk, Legion of Boom. I never really had a favorite player in NFL but Sherman and Lynch are my favorites.
@CYRUSZ Datvirusz 85 Bears faced Tony Eason on a wildcard Patriots team. 2001 Ravens faced a Kerry Collins and the Giants. None of their opponents were HOF caliber QBs (neither Patriots or Giants had HOF skill players PERIOD). They were record setting offenses. They didn't play in an era were the rules were designed to HELP the offenses and honder the defenses. They played in defense friendly, run the ball eras. Seahawks played the best offense EVER, one of the best QBs of all times period, and had rules where they practically had to play two hand touch on defense and STILL dominated.
@CYRUSZ Datvirusz Giving up 10 points to Tony Easons Patriots isn't as impressive as holding Peyton Mannings Broncos with their #1 of all time offense to 8 points. Especially with the differences in rules
God the fact that Seattle had a DT in Mebane pull back for a quick coverage play really says so much about how athletic those dudes were. This film is intimidating.
I will never forget thinking that Carroll was going to go into prevent mode way too early and Denver would get back into it. Then Harvin ran that kick back and realizing it was over. I can't believe Denver sold out to stop Lynch only to have RW carve them up. Seattle just ate the clock up.
As a group there just wasn't anyone who could generate consistent offense against that Seahawks defense. The speed at all levels was just too good, Bennett, Avril and Clemons up front, Wagner, Irvin and Wright behind them and Thomas in the back with BamBam just knocking dudes out of the play. It really was about Avril and Bennett, they made it so easy for the secondary and it was easy to see how it impacted when they both left. It was actually a good 5 year stretch of nasty defense and they should have won that 2014 Super Bowl. Its too bad the secondary ended up being injured by the 4th quarter because it made it easy for Brady and Edelman to make the curl routes that got them back in the game and of course passing from the 1 yard line against the side with OUR corner in the game.
felt bad for the broncos ngl- they were a respectful team. But ngl its funny when the broncos goes "stay calm" or "we good" when they are clearly freaking out inside
Seattle even won the coin toss. I now can’t think of one single thing the Broncos won that night. Not even in moral victories. Just completely utterly annihilated.
The fastest a Super Bowl was ever lost. 12 AMAZING seconds in and they never looked back. Sorry, Denver. Also, thanks for the picks. Good on ya! CAN WE SCORE MORE POINTS?
DIE HARD SEAHAWKS FAN. Loved every bit of this game. We crushed them, but I can't lie, I really feel bad for Champ Bailey and Wes Welker... Those guys deserved a ring for their great careers. Only if they knew that 2 years later they could've had it... #GOHAWKS
You especially feel bad for Welker when you consider how some of the greatest offenses in history, he was smack dab involved with. And didn't come away with rings those years. Especially for some of the concussive hits he took.
@@Gungho73makes people think. Are the concussions that you risk having enough to make one think twice about trying so hard to compete and may not even be rewarded with a world championship for all those efforts? Having numerous concussions impacts the long term health of these players. Worst case scenario is you end up having the brain damage Chris Benoit had and look what he did.
The one thing that I'll remember about this game, above all others, was how loud it was. So often these games are somewhat like distant. Maybe a loud moment at a critical point in the game, a crazy play. This crowd was either pro Seattle or just infected by the excitement of the pro Seattle crowd. I absolutely think early on it caused jitters for that Denver offense.
@@a-ddaigrepont3375 Wilson lost it? Did he fail to set the pick, was he also being lazy as he'll on the catch and getting bodied by Butler, not prepares to fight for it at all? Nope
Kam's hit on DT set the tone for the rest of the game for defense. He should have been MVP imo. 15:22 Oh Pete, wish you said this the following year...
@@devinsmith1716 Decker Welker Thomas the other Thomas oh yeah don't forget Payton... High powered. You're saying that because the Seahawks made them look pathetic... but they kind of made it to the superbowl pretty easily
@@eddiebrock9943 Julius Thomas wasn't on the team that won the super bowl. Neither was welker, and no I'm saying this because it's facts. Fuck Peyton manning and the Seahawks, neither one got shit on Brady
People would say that this was a boring super bowl but as much as I think about it, this was a really entertaining super bowl for several reasons: 1. The game had offense, 2 TD passes from Seattle, 1 from Denver, and a TD from Beastmode. Even Russell Wilson and Percy Harvin ran the ball in this game 2. The game had defense. 2 INTs, 1 a pick 6, 1 forced fumble and recovered by Seattle. There were also some pass deflections and hard hits. 3. Special teams were present too. 2 FGs and a kickoff return TD 4. The safety at the beginning was the quickest score in SB history 5. 2 pt conversion by the broncos as well lol Definitely a super bowl to forever remember by seahawk fans
The Legion of Boom was a fun team to watch. I wish the Seattle run could’ve lasted longer. After that L to the Pats in the Super Bowl the very next year, that was the beginning of the end for them. Super Bowl XLIX is my personal favorite so I have a lot of respect for the Seahawks and their fan base.
That was a GREAT game. Unfortunately for Seattle they lost 2 guys in the secondary and they didn't have the depth from 2013. Brady and Edelman worked that magic like clockwork. I always respected the Pats/Giants as secondary teams and their fans. BB and Brady... they did it with so many changes. XLIX would have been a great game no matter the winner
