This is a great diy video. The whole job took just over an hour and cost $22.00 and really gives it a modern look. The tip about the duct tape made pulling them easy.
Just finished this upgrade. What a difference. This video helped a lot, especially with the accessing of the bulbs. It was nerve racking thinking I was going to break a cover or two on my new pro lol! That was such a good idea with the map lights and the tape. Thanks for the video and suggestions on the lights!
Just ordered, received and installed recommended Yorkim LED'S. As a side note, the 194's came with a small pry tool. I ordered a set I guess they will come in handy on another mod. New lights are soooo much better. Keep up the great work and thank you for your service.
So I watch a lot of youtube videos and my roommate just bought a 2018 4runner and wants to change out all of the interior lights. Your video was spot on and this will make it super simple for him to install the leds. Great video but I have just one question. What 5 idiots would give this video a thumbs down? It couldn't be any clearer on how to install the leds. Some people.....
Just finished installing all of these, makes a HUGE difference! Thank you so much for the amazing walk through, made it super easy.. mostly.. half the time spent was just pulling those f-ing front center bulbs out.. 😡 Thanks again!! 🙏
Thanks to your videos. I pulled the trigger and bought led lights for my fogs, high, and low beams. Also bought my interior led lights. I gained more confidence with your videos. I went ahead and stuck with auxbeam for the outside. I liked the idea of just plug and play. I really didn’t wanna drill a hole I. The dust cover. Went with the Oxilam for the interior. Very well priced and the reviews were well. Keep up the great work
Simple and cost effective thanks for the tips! Got mine done in 20 mins and it saved me some cash. Some folks want to charge 3 to 5 times what these bulbs cost.
Awesome video man! Just did this to my 2016 4runner trail following your instructions. It was so easy and the lights look 10x better. Can't believe Toyota doesn't include these stock. Upgrading my back up lights and headlights next. Keep up the solid content!!
The map lights are designed by Mr. Toyota to be replaced from the top. The upper console pops off and the lights come out with a quarter turn housing. Check it out.
I think you should try to do some reviews on the lasfit bulbs. The t10s come in many colors for $8 to $11 a set of 2. The dome lights are about the same. And they are bright as heck. See what you can do with that brand. I've got everything on my car from lasfit. No flickering and bright as always. I am certain those might flicker before too long and that gets annoying
Thanks for this video! I just finished swapping all of my interior bulbs to OXILAM LEDs! I love the crisp white color and can’t wait until tonight to see them in the dark
Blue TRD Jon my only complaint (which has nothing to do with you lol) is that the dome/cargo lights (3022) don’t quite match the map/vanity (194) bulbs in color output. I had really hoped that by ordering both types from the same manufacturer that they would match perfectly. It’s not super noticeable, but if you’re looking for it you can tell, it’s basically just enough of a difference to irritate me
Great video - super simple and easy to follow. Thank you for listing the bulbs in the description. Any chance you have a video or are planning one for wiring installation for ditch lights/light bars?
Hey great video!!! I ordered a kit with all the interior, mirror, and backup lights on amazon for 25 or 26$. Just letting you know that they do offer full interior kits for less than 30$
Thanks for the very very helpful vid. I don't know if you had an issue the bulb in the dome light but i bought the same 3022 led bulbs you used and they are just a hair to big and would not fit. They worked fine in the cargo door but there is much more room there. Otherwise the rest of the bulbs worked great. Thanks again.
It was a pain to get that dome light. I was just a tad to big but still able to seat it up there. Hasn’t come loose yet. Idk why it fits like crap when the tailgait ones fit perfectly
Let me ask you a question if you don't mind. I watched you video about the dislikes and thought you were spot on. My question is: did the plethora of owners manuals in your PRO come in a dealer's 1970's style paper envelope? I can't believe mine did. Even my 1999 cherokee has a vinyl folder for the manuals.
So you have had these for 4 years. How have they held up? Any problems? Have you had to switch them? What are your thoughts after having them on for awhile?
New Subscriber here, Ive seen dozens of these LED interior light swap/upgrades vids on RU-vid...but not one of them has included one for the glove box, can you make one
HI Jon , great video as always. Question before I ordering those LED , when you closing the door's are the dim slowly like the original halogen one? Thank you in advance
PLEASE BE CAREFUL!!!! installing it, i burned the BCM of my 4runner when accidentally touched positive with negative in the drivers curtesy light, so it looks a pretty expensive reparation and parts, sorry about my english, kind regards from chile
22! Where did you get that pry tool? So I know with the old halogen bulb you want to be wearing gloves so your oils from your skip are not on the bulb. Do you know if the LED lights are the same? Yo that duck tape trick 😍😍
Blue TRD Jon Question: I am looking at Amazon for the 3022 lights. Which ones do I get as it seems the packaging has changed a bit. You video shows the 31mm 5050. It seems that now they have the 5730 or the 4014. I assume that I should get the 5730?
I install the lights in the lift gate without any issues today but I could not get the dome light in. I have a 2020 ORP. All three bulbs look the same but the part number on the dome light ends with a 99 and the lift gate end with a 94. I could never get the light to pop in on both ends.
Hey Jon, I need to replace my map lights. Their flickering and are annoying as all. Are you still happy with this brand? If not, what do you recommend? Thanks
Can I assume these are the same types of light for a 2020? I just bought mine 4runner through a Power of Attorney so I don’t have the vehicles manual on hand to find out what type of bulbs the 4Runner needs. Can I assume all 5th generations use the same bulb just different amounts?
What’s the toughest part of the install? Just got my 2022 TRDPro after a 9 month wait. I have a dealer (outta state) that is selling at MSRP!! Hit me uo
I purchased these leds a year ago and now the dome and tailgate bulbs are dying. Just curious if you have had any problems or updated to another brand?
These bulbs are trash. They will constantly burn out on you. Although the seller will send you a new set under warranty its not worth the headache. Dome tailgat3 and license plate bulbs kept burning out on me. I suggest getting better quality bulbs. Just my .02$
Check Amazon, you can get interior lights (LED) and it includes all of the interior, Mirrors, backup, and license plate. You can also filter by what fits your vehicle.
