I always liked this one way more than Contra 1. There’s more crazy alien stuff, and the new splash damage flame gun is way more useful then the useless spinning flame gun from the previous game.
And just like that I'm back in 1980 something in my parents living room on a Friday night, sitting on the floor in front of the console TV, eating Dominos Pizza (we lived in the sticks, only delivery we could get) and playing SC on the NES with my brother because we rented it from the video store for the weekend...what a time to be a kid!
Arcus you should've gone for the Flame over Spread. In Super C, in order to nerf the Spread, the developers decided that whenever you use Spread, the enemies have more health than when you use other weapons. Hence making the Flame strategy the go-to strat for speedrunning. Maybe try it next time. Cheers !!!!!
Love when I catch a new Arcus run while he's still comparatively "bad." This run is going to get so much better so quickly and it's going to be great fun watching it improve.

I always wondered why they went with "Super C" instead of "Contra 2". Once the SNES came out, most sequels to NES originals started using Super as a prefix, but for Contra they had to start using numbers.
That was more playthrough than speedrun, but always wonder your views? Here is much better Super C runs in youtube, but you got always best views, However this is still nice gameplay.:)
I used to reset the game and start over again the moment I lost S power 😂 For me the game was hopeless to continue without S power and here Arcus took down a boss without any power! Respect!
Fun fact, if you jump on the front leg that's lower than the others, nothing this boss does can actually hurt you 😂 its pretty hilarious. This is the easiest boss in the entire game.
In Gradius, someone kills you and you will have to return since the beginning of the level or at the checkpoint. Not in Super C. You dies, you keep it up towards again.
Dude I freaking killed this game when I was a kid I literally killed it I played it so much and broke LOL.. me and my brother would always play two players this game was a lot harder than contra

Nice run! That game is so ridiculous. I can smash Contra (no death) pretty quickly, but I haven't beaten Super C. The game can be unfair. You always make these games look easy. Congrats my man!
Love the video as always @Arcus fun to watch. Though this time more deaths then I'm used to seeing. Still tons better than what I can do though. Ever played Guardian Legend? Would love to see a speed run of that. Loved that game when I was young 37 now heh.
