Griddle cooking looks like a blessing. My house/kitchen gets totally covered in grease since I went carnivore. I always have to wipe down the whole kitchen, or cover stuff so it doesn't get greasy. Also breathing the fine grease particles in the air, it can cause a big problem for some folks, well you really don't want to breath it long term even if you don't already have breathing issues.
I really like this. I dont have as griddle but i could use the same principle for the side wing of my grill. Ill probably use mineral oil every now and then to coat it like old wooden tool handles. And then use a little dawn dish soap when washing it. Fortunately i have a shit ton of old fencing panels from having to rebuild a fence at my MILs house. All free materials. Damn, maybe i should do the Dowie thing and build a bunch of extras of some standard size to sell.
I just bought a 22" for camping this year, I had been using a griddle top on a Colman white gas stove. This is gonna be huuge. I look forward to your cast.
1. Does the surface of the grill need to be level or tilted back slightly? I seem to go through alot of oil. 2. Proper cleaning technique after use. 3. No matter what i do i cant seem to achieve a seasoned grill, any tips. And i seasoned grill according to the instructions.
I don’t know man, wiping off the metal shelves while I’m already cleaning the griddle anyway seems easier than scrubbing wood shelves every so often. I do like the added shelf footprint though.
