Day 48: Phly, you should play the Hawk III Chinese fighter; 900lbs of bombs in a biplane at 1.0 that you can dogfight in after dropping. Totally balanced.

This was an actual tactic used against the Japanese where the Russians would be flying with their gears out and tricking them into thinking they were in I-15s

I'm so glad I got a discount and was able to but that plane, god its so fun. The 20mm stealth belts are so fun to strafe the open top SPAAGs that don't see the tracers coming until their crew gets splashed by shrapnel

I have to say I have never looked at an I-15 and thought - “it can’t manoeuvre, it has no power”, they are deadly and so fun to fly, there is a reason they were used late into ww2 and why they scored kills against German aircraft, all fear the seagull. Still on a separate note, damn you gaijiin, just another premium aircraft that will probably end up being used by high tiers to club low tiers.

I have all chaikas and I think that the 7mm one is actually superior to this one because of the ammo count. it's a shame they nerfed the belt for this plane, the 20mm used to have AP rounds.

Its always the 109 Trops that turn with everything, until something out turns them and then they get upset about it.

It's reasonable to bring in an ultra low BR aircraft into a higher BR game as long as it's not so high as to be facing radar guided SPAA.

I just got this little seagull, it takes a bit of getting used to but pretty rewarding when people get frustrated and try to turn fight you. Managed to drop an XP-50 with it last night and a P38 flying close to the ground found out about the blast radius of the rockets!

They nerfed the I-153P's 20mm so hard that I haven't killed a plane with it, In fact, I often unloaded all the ammo into afk climbers and they still didn't die. The cannons do literally no damn damage. So I often just load HE and daka AA.

This is my favourite vehicle in War Thunder! Cant wait to watch

Ground RB fighters mostly aren’t that good dogfighting, so taking things like I-153s Spitfires or Zeroes (personal favourite Ki-43-III) for interception is super fun

Given that I just started War Thunder with the low-tier Russian biplanes and I just got my first Mig-3, as well as the fact that I am researching this legendary aircraft, I will definitely try this.

I barely play planes at all but this little shit is by far my favorite. Biplane with cannons! I've taken down jets with it. Plus its ability (like all biplanes, admittedly) to take off and immediately maneuver at 60MPH while other planes have to hold a steady heading for a while is an amazing trick that's saved me from airfield strafing runs. Edit: Phly, what conflicting keybind is causing the game to constantly yell at you about "no self-homing missiles?" I don't know why but it's driving me nuts and distracting me constantly from watching the actual gameplay!
