Your Dana 60 looks like it came apart so much easier than mine did. Mine fought me the whole way. I'm excited to watch the progress on your build. . keep it up
@@MuddyBeards4X4 lucky. I was noticing that on the axles you had. From a junkyard in your area looks better than a set of axles under a 1 year old Jeep in my area. Lol.
Hi, when pounding on a castle nut to brake lose your ball joint, you should turn the nut up side down and pound on that side so as not to bend the castle side. just saying.
The ball joints are toast. I won't be using them. But ya that's a good tip. Usually beating on them that way messes up the threads anyway. So if I'm trying to reuse them I don't use that method
You're doing the exact project I'm dreaming about right now. But what are your plans for engine? Stroker or v8 swap? Can a stroker run 1 tons with proper gearing??? I ask because I have a spare 4.0 that I WAS planning on stroking, just not sure if thats the best plan yet
Ya it just kept wanting to twist off the jack stands. It was a pain. Its crazy how much I have come to rely on power tools. When I have to put a little muscle into I complain lol
@@MuddyBeards4X4 I too have really come to rely on my impact, probably too much. Great vid, I’ve gotta get into my f350 axles here soon so it was a great watch.
Hi. Quick question for you if you don't mind. I am installing Dana 60 axles under a 97 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Will there be any issues with the computer if I delete the speed sensor on top of the rear differential housing? I do not know how sensitive the computer is. I am okay if the speedometer does not work. I need to delete the speed sensor because there is a clearance issue between the top of the speed sensor and the bottom of my 4-link mount. I was planning on just welding in a small metal plate to plug the hole. Thanks for your time.
I believe the grand cherokee speed sensor is on your transfer case. So the speed sensors on the axles are not needed. I'm blocking them off on these axles.
The 05+ have 35 spline outers will the 99-04 have a 30 spline. Thats still a pretty beefy stub shaft and is upgradable down the road. But yes the 05+ are more expensive and harder to find in my area. Plus the 05+ are much wider. Too wide for what I want. Prob wouldn't even fit on my trailer
Got me for 11 minutes 30 seconds. The whole reason I was watching this. And you didn't actually do anything.. Good for you though.. Hope my veiw helps.
