Cyanoacrylate ('super glue' aka 'crazy glue') combines with sodium bicarbonate ('bicarb', baking soda) to emit toxic fumes. Use this method only in well ventilated areas, preferably outdoors. Handy, though-I fixed my washing machine switch this way, and it lasted years. Modellers use it to repair toy buildings and vehicles before shaping and painting, as can be seen elsewhere on RU-vid.

That is a U.K. a plug for a double insulated device, the earth (ground) pin was plastic to start with as the device doesn’t require an earth connection by design. The plastic pin is there only to open the shutters we have on mains outlets. In other international markets that sort of device may be fitted with a two pin plug. I still don’t think it’s a great idea in this example because if the home made pin snaps off it renders the socket unsafe and unusable.

Another trick (used it myself) is to cut of a small of wide postage-elastics (that mail delivery guys used to have in past) or ducktape and then carefully trying to move the screw. Saved my butt more than once :)

Except for all the money you’re going to spend on super glue 😮
@theodethomasa6358

@@PatHaskell That will still be cheaper than buying and shipping new replacement items! May even save more than $100.00!

This is a method is used for years. I’ve worked in Hollywood in a special effects on many movies and TV shows I built props I did animatronic and some model building. This method was as Sino concrete, crazy glue or Harvey Super Bowl with baking soda was used for quick fixes, and repairs works great on fiberglass plastics and everything from metal to even securing foam latex rubber.

Some great applications there although if I’m honest the last one seemed like it would be easier to just change the plug 😅
