Hey Crim. Just wanna say thank you for your good content. I just broke up recently and watching your content really put an ease on my mind even just for a moment.
Crim! I’ve got an idea for y’a. With the release of Slime Against Humanity, I’ve been experimenting with an all sorcery Umori, the Colector deck. I feel like this jank is right down your alley.
@@epothos1Umori isn't in your deck, is the thing - it lives in your sideboard/"outside the game". It's like how Lurrus stops you from playing other copies of Lurrus.
You got me so good with my hypocrisy. I was totally thinking 'geez this deck is awful' but as soon as you suggesting thinking how it feels to sit behind that many counters? Damn, I was got. It is such a good feeling when you have inevitability + counters.
13:38 You could have actually saved the Mite, and still gotten the Jace with combat by using the Void Rend on the Leyline Binding with the trigger on the stack. Effects like Leyline Binding don't exile the target at all if they leave the battlefield before their ability resolves.
Oh, so THIS IS WHY I've only been seeing this deck on the standard ladder. This is utterly goddamn miserable to play against. Thank you. And by "thank you" I mean "go to hell, you demented genius." This is an AWESOME control list. Well done.
on top of everything else, every single person who's playing this list is slow-playing like you WOULDN'T BELIEVE. I swear you're the only person who plays control like you value the other person's time, Crim.
I made a brawl deck with xanathar as my commander and its great, all you gotta do is play ramp and the blue mill creature that you can have any amount of (forgot what its called) its funny because almost everyone has a counter to their own deck, and you can just ramp as much as you want because you dont need to worry about card draw, if you get a land you can just make them mill it and you're fine Highly recommend
I'm watching your videos and cardmarket too, never get into magic because if the budget but i really want to try mtg arena any advices for a beginner ?
You're going to have to start by grinding jump in probably? Use the gold from that to save for quick drafts and then premier/traditional drafts like epothos says, and try to save up your wildcards and draft pulls for a cheap meta standard deck
If you're tight on the budget you can also look into Pauper or PreModern for paper. Just ask your local gamestore if there is a playerbase for those. For Arena: try to stick to one deck first until you got your collection up a bit more. Mono Red Aggro or Mono Blue Tempo are pretty cheap to build in terms of Wildcards needed. I'd recommend going for Explorer as Historic/Timeless used way more Rares on average and Standard get's more stuff constantly which makes it a bit hard to keep up. It's also worth to check the shop for the daily deals as sometimes they have stuff like free gold or a booster for reduced cost. And try to build your Manabases as soon as possible that will support you in the long run. Especially Shockduals.
Depends on meta if people are trying to drop big baddies like they have been then yes it can be a game ending turn for them if people are playing a bunch of cheap spells with a decent access to mana then make disappear might be the extra push needed but it will require you to build around it.
I've never been a control player. When this set came out I just threw together an Azorius Control deck using cards I already have. It's loaded with every counter spell and an absurd number of sweepers and card selection. The only "win conditions" are planeswalker token beatdowns and mirrex token beat down as well as a single restless anchorage. Holy shit the deck is miserable to play against and beyond hilarious. I can see why people get addicted to playing pure control.
